Is it normal plate corals to get puffy like this? I’ve heard it’s really good when they are puffy but I’ve also heard it means they don’t like where there at in the tank does anyone know the actual answer? 😅
Update on the BiO, been trying to get these zoas to open and grow, got a green BTA and got it boxed up in the pent house lol, and today I had picked up a purple feather duster worm and fruit loopz zoas

Hey Maggie, I’d probably place that Kryptonite Candy Cane where it can get moderate flow and decent lighting without being blasted directly by the strongest PAR spots. Mid-level is usually good since it likes some light but can get stressed if it’s too intense...

Yeah I’ve noticed my plate corals get puffy when they’re really happy and getting good flow and lighting. Sometimes they do shrink if they’re stressed, but yours looks like it’s thriving! Placement on the sand can be tricky so just watch for any quick changes.
Why is my green Kenya tree leaning over?
I moved the direction of flow and my Kenya hated it for a couple days, I wouldn’t be too worried yet. But definitely buy some test kits and make sure your lighting is decent.

Nice branching SPS. The orange purple color really pops under that blue lighting and the polyps look super healthy.
