Hello community, I’m new here, crossing over from Freshwater🫣. Got me the Hello Reef 15g AIO, then decided I needed two more 5gs to balance out my pico tank shelves- each tank has a stocking plan, but we’ll see how it all pans out. Currently each are somewhere between 3-7 days into cycling with live sand and rock, dosed with Dr. Tim’s ammonia and either Dr. Tim’s or Fritz 9 live bacteria. Hoping to add first inverts by June! I plan to get each tank set up on an ATO soon- I was looking at Fzone as an affordable solution for these smaller tanks. What do ya’ll think?

Cycling my new tank - I find the waiting the hardest. Nitrites are 0,5ppm and Nitrates are 5ppm.

I still need to get my lights and I’m having a hard time deciding.

Looking for advice! We just set up a second smaller tank (60gl) and now cannot decide what to put in it. We originally had plans to do a seahorse tank but after research, have decided NOT to go that direction.

We have 125g setup now with more peaceful fish. One option is to relocate all my small fish into the smaller tank and then put a snowflake eel into the 125 with my blue tang, scopas tang & foxface.

Or build a second stock list in the new tank. Water is cycling now so we have some time to build it out. Suggestions welcome! 😄

Hey guys, im a month in with my first nano (80l) and hitting a bit of trouble which id love some advice on.

Currently no fish, but added 4 trochus snails 10 days ago to start getting some life in there once cycle was complete.

My LFS recommended adding 2 bags of copepods and 2ml of phytoplankton once a week whilst we don't have fish to (i think) speed up algae growth.

For the last 5/6 days the water has looked a bit cloudy and nitrates have dropped from 18 to around 2 or 3. Chat GPT is saying it could be a bacterial bloom.

Sand adding question

Can I add more sand to my tank mid cycle it’s currently got live sand in it that’s very fine and I want to add a courser one to stop it blowing around in the flow so much .

Will this affect my cycle and harm already active bacteria on the sand already in the tank

Thanks

This is my new setup 14 days in I’m trying to start new and get my tank back together! I still need to add the other rock structure, but any advice on starting a new setup with no fish yet would be greatly appreciated!
