¡Ayuda! Ayer metí dos baby storm clowns al acuario de cuarentena y el negro inmediatamente se fue al fondo y se acostó respirando fuerte. Esta mañana murió. 😭 ¡No quiero perder al naranja también! ¿Qué hago? Todos mis parámetros están bien.
Help! I got two baby storm clowns yesterday and put them in quarantine and the black one immediately went to the bottom and laid down breathing heavily. This morning he died. 😭 I don’t want to lose the orange one too! What do I do? All of my parameters are good.

Muchas gracias @MaxB. Aquí hay más información. - Aclimaté por goteo como una hora. La proporción de agua nueva a vieja fue 1:1 antes de transferirlos. - Los conseguí en una tienda local de agua salada. Los tuvo como un mes y los estaba guardando para mí mientras ciclaba mi acuario de exhibición. - Mi filtro tiene una función de burbujeador que agita la superficie mientras añade burbujas pequeñas y la tengo al máximo. - No añadí ninguna medicina. - Tenía codos PVC negros de 1.5" adentro pero los conseguí en Home Depot y me preocupa que sea lo que los haya matado. - Acabo de hacer un cambio de agua del 50% y añadí Seachem Prime y Stress Guard. El pobre no se ve nada bien.
Thank you so much @MaxB. Here’s more information. - I drip acclimated for about an hour. The new to old water was 1:1 before I transferred them. - I got them from a local saltwater only fish store. He had them for about a month and was holding them for me while I got my display tank cycled. - My filter has a bubbler feature that agitates the surface while adding tiny bubbles and I’ve got it turned it all the way up. - I didn’t add any medication at all. - I had black 1.5” pvc elbows in there but I got them at Home Depot and I’m worried that’s what killed them. - I just did a 50% water change and added Seachem Prime and Stress Guard. Poor guy isn’t doing so well.

Me parece que hiciste todo bien, a veces podrían no estar en las mejores condiciones en la tienda y el cambio es lo que los hunde. Y un montón de gente usa tubing PVC en cuarentena, así que muy probablemente no fue la razón por la que el clown murió. Los peces payaso son resilientes así que hay buena posibilidad de que el que queda sobreviva con suficiente cuidado. No te culpes, probablemente fue algo fuera de tu control.
It’s seems to me like you did all the right things, sometimes they may not be in the best condition at the fish store and the move is what puts them over the edge. And tons of people use the pvc tubing in quarantining setups, so it’s most likely not the reason the clown passed. Clownfish are resilient fish so there’s a good chance the remaining one will make it with enough care. Don’t beat yourself up over it, it was likely out of your control

Short for indestructible. 😅 I’m really hoping he lives up to it. 🙏🏻🤞🏻 I told him he has a name now so he’s obligated to live! 😂

¡Ay no! Lo siento mucho, se me ocurren algunas cosas- 1) Tu salinidad está un poco baja, normalmente la gente apunta a 1.026. ¿Los aclimataste por goteo o solo los metiste? Podría ser shock por un cambio repentino de salinidad. 2) si los compraste en línea y te los mandaron podrían haber llegado en mal estado y extremadamente estresados. 3) tal vez no hay suficiente oxígeno, pon un burbujeador de aire, veo que tienes un Wavemaker pero está en el fondo, lo que no añade oxígeno al acuario porque no está rompiendo la superficie del agua así que no está añadiendo mucho oxígeno. 4) si dosificaste una medicina muy pronto podría haber puesto demasiado estrés en el pez, (como si dosificaras cobre justo cuando los metes al acuario) Solo tú sabes todos los detalles específicos de tu situación, así que mucho ánimo y ¡espero que el otro clown sobreviva! Considera conseguir algo para que el pez se esconda, como un tubo PVC abierto grande tipo T, los ayudará con el estrés si tienen un espacio seguro. Los otros parámetros se ven bien por cierto.
Oh no! Sorry to hear that, there’s a few things that I can think of- 1) Your salinity is a bit low, usually people aim for 1.026. Did you drip acclimate them or just put them in? It could be shock from sudden salinity change. 2) if you got them online shipped to you they could have been in bad shape already and extremely stressed. 3) maybe not enough oxygen, put an air bubbler in, I see that you have a Wavemaker but it’s at the bottom, which doesn’t add oxygen to the tank because it’s not breaking the surface water it’s not adding much oxygen. 4) if you dosed a certain medication too early it could have put too much stress on the fish, (like if you dosed copper right as you put them in the tank) Only you know all the specifics of your situation, so good luck and I hope the other clown makes it! Do consider getting something for the fish to hide in though, like a T pvc big open tube, it will help their stress if they have a safe space. The other parameters look fine btw.
