🚨 DEJA DE PERSEGUIR LUCES BRILLANTES EN TU ACUARIO 🚨

Llevo tiempo dándole vueltas desde que alguien dijo sin importancia, "El espectro no hace nada, ajusta la luz como quieras." O sea, ¿entonces qué sentido tiene la luz de "espectro completo"?

Seamos sinceros:

Si "más brillo = mejor", ¿por qué tus corales siguen estresados y eventualmente mueren?

¿Subir el canal blanco al máximo? ❌

¿Maximizar tus canales favoritos? ❌

Los corales en realidad quieren:

1. Espectro azul real para la fotosíntesis

2. Espectro violeta para color y fluorescencia

3. Espectro estable para poco estrés y crecimiento máximo

Demasiado UV/UVA = Estrés oculto, blanqueamiento en días, huida en semanas

Mucho rojo/verde = Favorita de las algas

"No necesitas el acuario más brillante, necesitas un acuario donde tus corales prosperen, no solo sobrevivan."

🚨 STOP CHASING BRIGHT LIGHTS ON YOUR TANK 🚨

It has been on my mind since someone said nonchalantly, "The spectrum does nothing, sets the light as you want." Like, what's the deal with the "full spectrum" light then?

Let's be honest:

If "brighter = better", then why are your corals still stressed and eventually dying?

Cranking up white channel? ❌

Maxing out favorite channels? ❌

Corals actually want:

1. Royal Blue spectrum for photosynthesis

2. Violet spectrum for color and fluorescence

3. Stable spectrum for low stress and high growth

Too much UV/UVA = Hidden stress, bleach in days, bailout in weeks

High Red/Green = Algae favorite

"You don't need the brightest tank, you need a tank where your corals thrive, not just survive."

Soy un nuevo reefer y tuve que aprenderlo de la manera difícil. Todo lo que ves en YouTube repite estabilidad, incluso tengo un mentor de arrecife y me seguía diciendo que dejara de tocar las luces. No escuchaba hasta que maté algunas de mis piezas favoritas.

I’m a new reefer and I had to learn the hard way. Everything you watch on YouTube repeats stability, I even have a reef mentor and he kept telling me to stop messing with the lights. I wouldn’t listen until I killed some of my favorite pieces.

Me pasó lo mismo con el posicionamiento del generador de movimiento también. Dos colonias de torch murieron por mi descuido 🥲 Pero me aseguré de no cometer los mismos errores adelante. La estabilidad es la clave 🔑

I did the same on the wavemaker positioning too. Poor 2 colonies of torch died from my carelessness 🥲 But I made sure not to do the same mistakes onwards. Stability is the key 🔑

Debería haberme dado cuenta antes, tenía una colonia Pandora de zoas de 40 cabezas, cambié mi luz y la puse al máximo, los zoas se aniquilaron completamente, una pena, eran muy bonitos

Should have realised this earlier, had a 40 head Pandora zoa colony, I changed my light and had it on full blast, zoas completely nuked themselves, shame, they were very nice

SI, y eso es una palabra pequeña pero importante, y SOLO SI necesitas aumentar la intensidad de tu iluminación, hazlo en incrementos pequeños (5-10%) durante muchas semanas. Descubrir dónde están cómodos tus corales y luego mantener tu acuario estable es la clave.

IF, and that’s a mighty big little word, and only IF you need to increase your lighting intensity, do it in small (5-10%) increments over many weeks. Finding out where your corals are happy, then keeping your tank stable is the key.

¡Me encanta cómo brillan esos softies con esa iluminación azul real y violeta! Realmente muestra que ese espectro asesino marca toda la diferencia sin arrasar a los corales con demasiada luz blanca.

Love how those softies are glowing with that royal blue and violet lighting! It really shows that killer spectrum makes all the difference without blasting corals with too much white light.
