Description
A large, deep-bodied tamarin wrasse whose scales are each marked with a bright blue dot; females and juveniles are darker brown to greenish with pale bars, while dominant males become olive-green to blue-green with a barred face pattern and blue-spotted flanks. Peaceful but shy and constantly foraging, it needs a very large, mature system with abundant live rock for grazing on micro-crustaceans plus a deep, fine sand bed it can dive into to sleep. Notoriously touchy on import and often reluctant to begin feeding, so it should be the display centerpiece with non-aggressive tankmates and a tightly sealed lid.

The Blue Spotted Wrasse prefers a tank with plenty of hiding places and open space to swim. It needs a sandy substrate as it likes to burrow.
Behavior
This fish is known to be active and will often be seen swimming around the tank. It is not aggressive towards other species, but may be territorial with its own kind.
