Description
The Matted Filefish is a unique and interesting saltwater fish known for its distinctive shape, mottled coloration, and spiky dorsal fin. It has a flattened body with a rough, sandpaper-like texture. This fish is also known for its ability to change color and pattern to blend into its surroundings, making it a fascinating addition to any aquarium.

Yes, but with caution. While the Matted Filefish is often kept in reef tanks for its ability to control aiptasia, it may also nip at soft and stony corals.
Environment
The Matted Filefish prefers a tank with plenty of live rock for hiding and grazing. It needs a well-filtered aquarium with good water movement to mimic its natural habitat.
Behavior
The Matted Filefish is generally peaceful but can be territorial with others of its kind. It is a slow swimmer and prefers to hover in one spot, using its pectoral fins for maneuvering.
