Description
A compact dwarf angelfish clad in rusty orange-brown with dark spotting on the flanks, blue-black margins on the dorsal and anal fins, and bright blue trim around the gill cover and tail. Males show blue streaking in the rear dorsal fin and dominate small harems, so keep only one per tank and avoid mixing with other Centropyge unless the system is very large. Provide at least 30-40 gallons with heavy live rock for grazing and hiding; it is generally hardy but should be watched in reef tanks, as individuals may nip LPS polyps, zoanthids and clam mantles if under-fed.

These fish prefer a well-lit tank with plenty of hiding spots. The tank should also have plenty of live rock for grazing.
Behavior
Rusty Angelfish are semi-aggressive and may become territorial in smaller aquariums. They are generally peaceful when housed with other species, but may become aggressive with their own kind.
