The tiger pistol shrimp is peaceful for the most part (they will defend the burrow by snapping their claws at those who get to close). Best when paired with a goby, they have a great symbiotic relationship where the Goby will watch the opening and alert the shrimp when there is danger, and the shrimp will dig the cave and defend the burrow. You will constantly hear, at least 5 times a day, snapping in the tank. It’s really effective at pushing sand around your tank, so get ready for crazy mounds and dips everywhere haha. The tiger pistol shrimp is fairly big and will rarely come out to walk around the tank, mostly just popping out of the cave to push sand or for feeding time. They are very diligent so expect a new cave entrance every few weeks. I recommend feeding with a long baster to ensure the shrimp gets a share of the food! Be CAREFUL of leaving unsecured coral on the sandbed!!! It will use it as a support for the cave it builds! Make sure it has plenty of rubble rock and shells for supporting its home! 10/10 awesome addition
