Summer hits and tank maintenance slides. It happens every year — water changes get pushed back, glass goes unwiped, and algae starts creeping in. If you’re going to let anything slip, make sure your cleanup crew is picking up the slack.
Cerith snails are one of the best investments you can make for a low-maintenance tank. They work every layer — substrate, glass, and rockwork — eating detritus, cyano, diatoms, film algae, and leftover food before it can fuel a bloom. They’re nocturnal too, so they’re putting in work while you’re not even looking!

Any tips on getting rid of green truf algae?
Trying to id this stuff growing over my rock
Its balck / brown in color blows off easily with a feeding tub and sucks up easily during water changes
Can clean it off the rocks today and 2 days later its back ai and local reef pages ( in new zealand ) havent been much help any ideas
Anyone know how to get rid of this red algae bc I’m new to the hobby and I don’t like how it looks. Also will it mess with my corals bc it’s starting to get on a rock that has my zoa frag on it
Reef flux(リアフラックス)ではやっつけられなかった。
I have a pretty persistent strain of bryopsis in my tank. It hasn’t taken over or anything but it makes me nervous. Reef flux didn’t kill it. I dipped the rock in hydrogen peroxide when I moved it to a bigger tank. It disappeared for a couple months. But I see it coming back. Maybe I can’t defeat it forever. But yall got any thoughts I haven’t tried? Or tips on managing it?
I'm getting a thin green film/algae layer over the sand bed, particularly toward the back and sides.
First thought was a snail, but now I’m not sure.
