ID alsjeblieft. Ik ben nieuw in het mariene aquarium hobby. Ik kreeg dit stukje, waarvan ik dacht dat het een koraal was, gratis bij mijn laatste bestelling. Nu heeft het deze polypen die eruit komen. Op de 1e foto kun je de paarse bovenkant zien van wat ik dacht dat gratis koraal was en ze groeien vanuit de onderkant, ze trokken allemaal in toen ik het stukje aanraakte (foto 2). Is dit aiptasia?
ID please. I am new to marine aquariums hobby. I got this piece, of what I thought was a coral, free with my last order. Now it has those polyps popping out. On the 1st photo you can see the purple top of what I through was free coral and they are growing from the bottom, they all retracted when I handled the piece (photo 2). Is this aiptasia?

Ik denk niet dat dit aiptasia is, vooral omdat de polypen niet dun en slierten zijn. Ik zou zeggen dat dit meer op groen ster polypen koraal lijkt
I don't think this is aiptasia, mostly due to the polyps not being thin and wispy. I'd say this looks more like green star polyp coral

Ik ben bang geworden en heb het stukje in de prullenbak gegooid. Het is zo moeilijk om te weten wanneer je nieuw bent en Google was niet behulpzaam.
I got scared and trashed the piece. It's so hard to know when you are new and Google was not helpful.

Na meer onderzoek en een aardig commentaar van lehairycrab, haalde ik het uiteindelijk uit de prullenbak en zette ik het terug in een bakje in de hoofdtank. Ik denk dat ik het ermee eens ben dat het meer op een gsp lijkt. Ik kan dit voor altijd betreuren of ik kan eindigen met een cool verhaal over hoe het een tripje naar de prullenbak heeft overleefd, we zullen zien (laten we eerst zien of het overleeft 😅)
After more research and kind comment from lehairycrab, I ended up pulling it out of trash and setting it back in a container in the main tank. I think I agree it looks more like a gsp. I may regret this forever or I may end up with a cool story of it surviving a trip the the bin, we shall see (lets see if he survives first 😅)

Goed nieuws voor mij, ik zou het erg vinden om aiptasia te krijgen slechts een maand na de start van een nieuwe setup. Ik kreeg mijn aquarium met alles inbegrepen (nu weet ik dat het beter is om apparatuur apart te kopen maar het was mijn eerste aquarium aankoop ooit). Het is een 90cm Strip Glo van Aqua One merk. Ik ben van plan het te vervangen, maar ik doe nog steeds onderzoek omdat ik mijn licht relatief zacht moet houden vanwege de toekomstige peacock mantis shrimp die ik in het aquarium wil plaatsen.
Excellent news for me, I would hate to get aiptasia only a month into a new set up. I got my aquarium with all the kit included (now I know it's better to buy equipment separately but it was my first ever aquarium purchase). It is a 90cm Strip Glo by Aqua One brand. I am planning to replace it, but I am still doing some research as I need to keep my light relatively mild due to future peacock mantis shrimp I am planning to put in the tank.

Omdat het los was, zette ik het in een klein bakje met steenblokken zodat het kan vastgroeien, maar het bakje zat sinds donderdag in mijn aquarium, dus ik weet niet of dat uitmaakt. Het hele bakje met alles erin is nu in de afvalbak. Dank je wel voor je hulp!
As it was loose i put it in a small container with rock pieces so it can attach, but the container was inside my tank since last Thursday, so I am not sure if that matters. The whole container with all contents is now in trash. Thank you so much for your help!
