I’m in the middle of setting up my first saltwater reef tank, I don’t have water or anything and I’m not done scaping so that’s why there’s so Little Rock, but for a 15g, what snails should I get as a cleanup crew? What type of snails should I get, and how many should I get to keep the tank looking nice?

Nerite snails have been the hardiest for me, but when it comes to cleaning power hands down the trochus snail wins it all. They’re eating machines. Maybe start with 2-3 and once you start seeing enough algea for them to eat you can go up as needed from there. One tiger conch would be great as well for the sandbed (once there’s enough food) Also Both trochus and conch can right themselves!

Alright cool! The sand was actually what I was most worried about because I really didn’t want it to be ugly, a tiger conch would be perfect for the sand then because those things are adorable, thank you!

No problem, you won’t regret it! The conch is the coolest snail out there, and sifts the sand really well

Make sure you give the tank time to grow food before you throw snails in or they won’t last very long

make sure u get some sort of algae in the tank like diatoms before adding cuc. I generally recommend tiger/fighting conch for sanded with a few nassarius snails, then trochus/astrea for general work. I wouldn’t recommend crabs tho unless it’s scarlet reef hermits.
