I saved this coral from petco yesterday. It is completely bleached and looked like all skeleton till I felt it and still had flesh. I dipped it and put it in my aquarium.. within a few minutes the polyps opened and I found out it was a hammer. Lol, first time hammer mom.. what should I feed it and what kind of lighting & flow do they like? Ty โค๏ธ

They like light and low flow but also beware bubble coral do sting corals
This is a better photo of it this morning. My tank lights are off so everything is still 'asleep'. I do see some sweeper tentacles
Yeah looks like a bubble. Nice find if I had good colors
Yeah i only paid $20 for it. Hopefully she colors up soon. I'll update once she does
Keep an eye on it for potential infection, specifically brown jelly. If euphyllia arenโt handled properly (which Iโd be shocked if Petco knew to do) their tentacles can get cut on the sharp edges of their own skeleton, get infected and melt out. Iโve tried getting healthy hammers before and both times (despite careful handling the second time), they both died within a couple of days. Pretty skeletons left over, though. ๐ Also, specifically, Iโve heard that the flow is better to be alternating so they have flow but arenโt constantly pushed against the sharp edges.
Thank you, I will! So far no jelly
