Hello everyone!
I am interested in this type of coral, I have researched and they are called Doughnut but I don't know if that is true. I heard that they absorb a lot of nutrients, I don't know if that is true. Please give me some advice. Thanks everyone (this photo is from the seller, I borrowed it from them)

Thatโs an Acanthophyllia
This
Yeah looks like an Acan for sure. Those colors pop hard under blues

Acanthophyllia, not an acan. Acan is typically short for acanthastrea lordhowensis (recently reclassified as Micromussa lordhowensis). The two are very different. Anyways they are not too hard to care for, and dont "absorb a lot of nutrients". You'll want to have typical reef parameters, most important is nitrate at around 5-15ppm and phosphate around 0.03-0.08ppm for lps coral like this one. They should be placed on the sandbed and get at least a little over 100 par. If this is your first foray into corals, I'd hold off on this one for a bit. Get easier lps like blastos, duncans, and favia and keep them happy for 6 months or so then Id give it a shot.

Yeah those look like Acans! Super bright colors. LPS can suck up nutrients for sure. Placement is key in a nano setup
