I have a lot of red algae in my tank that floats cuz of the air bubbles. Does anyone know what I can do to fix this? I have a 13.5 fluval and my tank is about 5 months old as well.

i would do a 2 day blackout then a water change before turning light back on feed a quarter of what your feeding now weekly water changes you have high phosphate
Lol hay Allie alright well too start i have thee exact same problem. Lol it's kinda like the live rock 🪨 in my tank all have it. It seems as if every rock has all these bubbles starting too form and red algae all over everything even the glass and i have a 15 gallon all glass aquarium and it has been up for about a month i will upload some pictures and videos sooo you can see for yourself. But honestly it's a really great thing it just means that you have too get a cleaner Crew or some fish that will eat all of that red and purple Coraline alg
Thank you so much for all the feedback. I’m glad it’s not a harmful thing for the tank. This is what my tank currently looks like after the 2 day blackout. I do have some cleaning crew in there as well. I’m very new to this hobby so anything helps. I heard protein skimmer might help
Also don’t mind the smudges on the glass I ran out of paper towels
That looks like cyanobacteria due to the red color. Better filtration to lower nitrates and phosphate is likely needed if the filtration is being properly maintained. A skimmer would be a good addition to help with more filtration, but it will come back if not properly maintained. Best to add some bacterial additives to outcompete the cyano. Cyano specific CUC would also help.

Are the air bubbles coming from your return pump or the algea itself? If it's floating I'd get a fish net to scoop it out in the meantime till it gets under control. Post a photo when you can
