Question for those who test magnesium levels using the Salifert reef tests. The instructions say to add one drop of reagent at a time until the solution turns gray or blue, whichever you see first. The problem I’m running into is the first color shift is to purple. Its kind of grayish but clearly not “gray.” The next drop will usually then shift it to blue. Which reading do you use? The difference in the results is at least 30ppm.

I also wait until it’s fully blue. Not sure what the best way. But as long as you measure it the same way your results will at least be consistent.

Ich würde persönlich den blauen Tropfen nehmen.
I’d use the blue drop personally
