Description
A deep-bodied, disc-shaped fish patterned with bold oblique black-and-yellow stripes that extend onto the dorsal and anal fins, reaching about 6 inches. Peaceful, active and gregarious, it does best in groups with open swimming room plus rockwork for shelter, and it accepts most meaty and prepared foods readily. It is a known Aiptasia eater, but its omnivorous appetite means it may also sample soft corals, zoanthids, LPS polyps and small ornamental shrimp, so use caution in a mixed reef; it also prefers cooler, subtropical-to-tropical temperatures.

These fish prefer a well-decorated aquarium with plenty of hiding places. They are found in rocky and coral-rich habitats in the wild, so structures that mimic these environments are beneficial. They require good water quality with stable conditions.
Behavior
Australian Stripeys are generally peaceful and can be kept with a variety of other fish species. They are active swimmers and will often be seen exploring their environment.

The Australian Stripey is not only gorgeous but I’d consider it a better apthasia solution than a copperband or a filefish.
