Description

The Blue Star Leopard Wrasse is a beautiful saltwater fish that is known for its striking blue color and unique star-like patterns. This fish is popular among aquarists for its beauty and its ability to control pests in the tank.

Reef Safe?

Yes. However, it may eat small, ornamental shrimp.

Environment

This species requires a well-established aquarium with plenty of live rock for hiding and a sandy substrate for burrowing. The tank should also have plenty of open swimming space. They prefer a brightly lit tank with moderate to strong water movement.

Behavior

Blue Star Leopard Wrasses are active swimmers and will spend much of their time exploring the tank. They are also known to bury themselves in the sand when they feel threatened or during the night for protection.

Very peaceful and personable fish. They are rumored to be very hard to get eating but mine was eating in the the store and has never stopped. Hides often during the day but is usually out in the mornings until noon. If you can find a healthy one I would recommend picking one up as it’s gorgeous colors would impress any reefer and non reefer alike.
