Description
The Niger Triggerfish, also known as the Redtooth Triggerfish, is a popular saltwater fish known for its vibrant colors and unique personality. It has a dark body with blue lines around the eyes and a lighter blue around the mouth. It also has red teeth, which is where it gets its alternative name.
Reef Safe?
It is considered semi-reef safe as it may nip at soft and stony polyp corals, sessile invertebrates and clam mantles.
Environment
The Niger Triggerfish requires a large tank with plenty of hiding spots and room to swim. It prefers a tank with a sandy bottom and plenty of live rock for grazing.
Behavior
The Niger Triggerfish is known for its active and curious nature. It is generally peaceful but can be territorial, especially towards other triggerfish. It is also known to rearrange rocks and substrate in the tank.
