Description

The Red Scooter Dragonet is a small, vibrant, and unique saltwater fish, well known for its distinct coloration. It has a rich red body with intricate black markings, and its dorsal fin resembles a dragon's wing, hence the name. This fish is a bottom dweller and is often found perched on rocks or the sand.

Reef Safe?

Yes. They are considered safe for reef tanks as they do not harm corals or other invertebrates. However, they may compete for food with other bottom-dwelling species.

Environment

The Red Scooter Dragonet prefers a well-established aquarium with plenty of live rock and a sandy substrate for them to forage in. The tank should have plenty of hiding spots, as these fish can be shy and prefer to have places to retreat to.

These fish are generally peaceful and often spend their time alone. They are known for their unique scooting behavior as they move along the substrate in search of food. They can be shy and prefer to have plenty of hiding spots in the tank.
