Love my blue legs, great CUC paired with some snails.
They can kill snails if they are not provided with extra shells. I've also had issues with them bothering feather duster worms by picking at their crowns and eating their tubes. Red leg hermit crabs are a better option.
Standard CUC member for smaller tanks. Actually really interesting; also funny to see them constantly bumbling around. Make sure to provide extra shells to reduce potential aggression between individuals. Some say they will kill snails for shells, but that is not my experience. Pros: cheap, stay small Cons: often need replacing, not good at clearing tougher algae Availability: everywhere has them
These are the ultimate all around clean up crew member. They will snack on algae, clean up excess fish food, and stay small and peaceful (so long as you supply them with enough shells as they grow). They are surprisingly fast and good at climbing, never go after my snails and look a beautiful striking blue with orange stripes. What else can I say, they are solid all around. 5/5 tank addition!
