Quali coralli vuoi mantenere a lungo termine? Anche che dimensioni ha la tua vasca? I Metal halide si possono trovare abbastanza economici se hai competenze elettriche e di DIY. Spesso trovi vecchi fixture a alogenuri metallici come quelli che usano nelle palestre e simili. Nonostante quello che dicono i marketing, i LED non ti fanno risparmiare sulla bolletta elettrica e non durano più a lungo. Ho costruito il supporto, la struttura superiore e l'illuminazione. È un sacco di lavoro, ma è divertente, e avrai un supporto e una struttura molto migliore di quella che avresti mai potuto sperare di comprare, e risparmi almeno la metà di quello che costerebbe solo un supporto comprato in negozio! Se non sei disposto a fare tutto questo, potresti comprare usato su Marketplace. Possibilmente anche qui su ReefBay. L'usato, soprattutto quando si parla di illuminazione, sarà sempre più economico che comprare nuovo. Cerca le scatole nere cinesi. La maggior parte di loro ti dà un bel rapporto qualità-prezzo. Il DIY sarà spesso la strada più economica. Non sempre, ma nella maggior parte dei casi sarà così.

You can often find old metal halide fixtures like they use in gyms and the like. Despite what marketing says, LEDs don’t save you money on your electric bill and they don’t last longer. It’s a lot of work , but it’s fun, and you’ll have a much better stand and canopy than you could ever hope to buy, and you’ll save at least half of what just a store bought stand would cost! If you’re not up for all that, you could buy used on Marketplace. Possibly here on ReefBay as well. Used, especially when it comes to lighting, is always going to be cheaper than buying new. Look for the Chinese black boxes. Most of them give a pretty good bang for the buck. DIY will often be the cheapest route however. Not always, but most of the time it will be.
