Donc, j'ai finalement craqué et acheté des Hanna Checkers, je suis dans et hors du hobby depuis la fin des années 80 et j'ai toujours utilisé des tests de titrage mais avec mon dernier système je n'ai pas pu établir mes paramètres, j'ai testé un chiffre et mon LFS avec mon propre kit de test a obtenu un chiffre complètement différent. Je sais que ces kits de test varient énormément d'un fabricant à l'autre et d'un utilisateur à l'autre mais mes propres tests d'affilée étaient complètement partout. Je sais que les tests Hanna ont des variations mais pour moi et mes vieux yeux c'est beaucoup plus facile de lire un affichage numérique que d'essayer de distinguer entre les nuances de rose, bleu et vert.

So, I finally broke down and bought some Hanna Checkers, I've been in and out of the hobby since the late 80s and have always relied on titration tests but with my latest system I have not been able to nail down my parameters, I tested one number and my LFS with my own test kit tested a wildly different number. I know these test kits vary wildly from manufacturer to manufacturer and from user to user but my own back to back tests were all over the place. I know Hanna tests have variations but for me and my old ass eyes it's much easier to read a digital number display than try to distinguish between shades of pink, blue and green.

Moi aussi j'ai fait comme toi! Je suis revenu au hobby en janvier et j'ai immédiatement commandé des Hanna Checkers. J'aime bien la facilité d'utilisation cependant, leur façon suggérée de mettre le produit dans les fioles à tester est difficile, juste en faisant un "entonnoir" avec l'emballage du produit. Je te suggère d'utiliser un petit entonnoir en plastique, genre un entonnoir à parfum je pense. Ouvre complètement l'emballage et verse-le à travers l'entonnoir. La quantité de poudre/particules que j'ai laisser tomber sur le côté de la fiole sur la table est absolue.

I also did what you did! Got back into the hobby January and immediately ordered Hanna Checkers. I do like the ease of use however, their suggested way of putting the media into the vials to test is rough, just making a "funnel" with the media wrapper. I suggest using a small plastic funnel, say like a perfume funnel I think. Open the wrapped completely and dispense it through the funnel. The amount of powder/particles I've dropped on the side of the vial onto the table is absurd.

Ouais, d'accord, ça demande de la concentration, du moins pour moi, de mettre la poudre dans la fiole. Ça m'a pris quelques essais avant de m'y habituer et d'établir une bonne baseline pour mes chiffres

Yeah, agreed, it takes some focus, at least for me it does, to get the powder into the vial. It took me a few test runs before I got it and established a solid baseline for my numbers

C'est une bonne idée l'entonnoir, j'ai une femme et des filles à la maison, je suis sûr que je peux trouver quelque chose parmi tous leurs trucs de beauté qui fera l'affaire

That's a good idea about the funnel, I got a wife and daughters in the house, I bet I can find something amongst all their beautification gear that will work just right

J'avais aussi du mal à mettre le réactif dans la fiole au début. J'ai fini par regarder la procédure de test officielle sur YouTube et le mec a plié le sachet de réactif en triangle et a coupé le haut. Ça crée un pli parfait et je n'ai pas renversé le réactif depuis. Je vais voir si je peux poster un lien ici

I was struggling with getting the reagent into the vial at first as well. I ended up watching the official testing procedure on YouTube and the guy folded the reagent packet into a triangle and cut the top off. It creates a perfect crease and I haven’t spilt the reagent since. I’ll see if I can post a link here
