So che i test Hanna hanno variazioni ma per me e i miei vecchi occhi è molto più facile leggere un numero su un display digitale che cercare di distinguere tra sfumature di rosa, blu e verde.
So, I finally broke down and bought some Hanna Checkers, I've been in and out of the hobby since the late 80s and have always relied on titration tests but with my latest system I have not been able to nail down my parameters, I tested one number and my LFS with my own test kit tested a wildly different number. I know these test kits vary wildly from manufacturer to manufacturer and from user to user but my own back to back tests were all over the place. I know Hanna tests have variations but for me and my old ass eyes it's much easier to read a digital number display than try to distinguish between shades of pink, blue and green.

All'inizio ero in difficoltà a far entrare il reagente nella provetta. Alla fine ho guardato la procedura di test ufficiale su YouTube e il tizio ha piegato il pacco del reagente a triangolo e ha tagliato la parte superiore. Crea una piega perfetta e da allora non ho più versato il reagente. Vedo se riesco a postare un link qui
I was struggling with getting the reagent into the vial at first as well. I ended up watching the official testing procedure on YouTube and the guy folded the reagent packet into a triangle and cut the top off. It creates a perfect crease and I haven’t spilt the reagent since. I’ll see if I can post a link here

Io ho fatto proprio quello che hai fatto! Sono tornato nel hobby a gennaio e ho subito ordinato i Hanna Checkers. Mi piace la facilità d'uso però, il loro modo suggerito di mettere il reagente nelle provette per testare è complicato, basta fare un "imbuto" con il pacco del reagente. Ti suggerisco di usare un piccolo imbuto di plastica, tipo un imbuto per profumo penso. Apri il pacco completamente e versa il contenuto attraverso l'imbuto. La quantità di polvere/particelle che ho fatto cadere sul lato della provetta sul tavolo è assurda.
I also did what you did! Got back into the hobby January and immediately ordered Hanna Checkers. I do like the ease of use however, their suggested way of putting the media into the vials to test is rough, just making a "funnel" with the media wrapper. I suggest using a small plastic funnel, say like a perfume funnel I think. Open the wrapped completely and dispense it through the funnel. The amount of powder/particles I've dropped on the side of the vial onto the table is absurd.

Yeah, agreed, it takes some focus, at least for me it does, to get the powder into the vial. It took me a few test runs before I got it and established a solid baseline for my numbers
È una buona idea quella dell'imbuto, ho moglie e figlie in casa, scommetto che trovo qualcosa tra tutta la loro roba di bellezza che funzionerà perfettamente
That's a good idea about the funnel, I got a wife and daughters in the house, I bet I can find something amongst all their beautification gear that will work just right
