Guys i need your help. In the new year i plan on investing in some corals but im strugling for ideas and placements. What do you think? For ease, ive created 3 main zones.

Zone 1 is a bare rock with a soft finger coral in front of it.

Zone 2 has a tiny green kenya tree that i hope grows nice a big and theres a small rock on the sand bed with a zoa on it.

Zone 3 is pretty empty. Has a red sponge attached to the rear of the rocks on the right hand side and a tourch that isnt fixed in possition but could be nice with a couple others and make abit of a garden?

I want colour and movement in my tank.

I like the look of GSP and have though about trying to put some on the backglass maybe.

Thanks for reading and any feedback welcome 👍🏼

I’m definitely new to this but 5 months in and I’ve made some coral mistakes. My advice is take your time. Don’t buy corals you don’t love. Give yourself time to get ones that get you pumped. You don’t have to fill up space overnight. I’m doing GSP on my back glass too so I love that idea. Maybe a torch on one of your peaks. They sting neighbors but if they are higher then maybe they don’t reach. Torches are fun. I really love my Duncan. So fun to feed and good movement to tank. I also love scolys and button corals cause they are fun to feed. Try to drop pellets on them. Those go low near the ground or right in sand.

Torches, hammers, or frogspawn would look great on that peak. In more shaded areas mushrooms or blastos can add color and do well in low light. By your finger leather you could do a toadstool behind it. And zoas you could put pretty much anywhere. Overall it’s a very nice scape.

Also try not to get too many corals at once. I find that when I get a lot at one time I am not as attached or attentive compared to ones I buy one at a time.

Great advice. This was the kind of direction i was hoping for. Many thanks!!
