Thinking I have an outbreak of cyano. I have a reddish brown algae covering the sand, and I’m having to scrape the glass multiple times a day and it’s making the water cloudy. Any recommendations? Not sure if this related, but I had bottomed out nitrates few weeks ago. I increased my feedings to twice a day, but this cyano seems to have gotten worse. I’ve been dosing NeoNitro and got my nitrates to 4 so I’m happy with that. Nothing appearing stressed. I’ve stopped dosing coral animos daily, and temporarily stopping feeding the corals incase this is fueled from a nutrient overload. My parameters have been decent other than my low nitrates. I’ve added more snails over the weekend too. Trying to combat this as naturally as possible.

good call stopping feedin ng coral for
It’s probably red slime, I’ve had this twice and the only way that has worked for me to get rid of it was red slime remover or chemi clean. A lot of times it will go away at night then come back the way it was and it can get really bad but good luck! It’s actually a pretty easy fix
Was it safe to treat while stocked? I have several corals, clowns and Blenny and worry about causing them harm
For me everything has been fine I have clowns, Blenny, watchman goby, snails and hermits and starfish and crabs and corals and they all have been fine! I used red slime remover so idk about chemi clean you can also look at what I have in my tank if you click on profile
Okay thank you!!! 🙏

Also wanted to add the red algae is coming back hours after siphoning it out. And the glass no sooner I scrape, it’s covering over.
