Hey that acan looks great even if it’s a bit shy in the pic! I love when they open up those fleshy polyps like that. Sometimes they just chill on the sandbed or near rock crevices before fully spreading out. Do you dose any amino acids or feed target feeds? I find it helps them color up and extend more. Also curious what lighting you’re running because chalices and acans can be a bit picky with intensity in a smaller tank. Green star polyps nearby might get a bit aggressive though with their fast growth so just watch for any signs of stinging. Keep up the good work with your nano reef
Hey man thanks. And no I do not dose anything in my tank. I do target feed them reef roids every other day. I had noticed from when I first started I knew nothing about how to properly set up my lights until I did a lot of digging and research on them. I’m running the ai blade light with the mobius app. Took me quite some time to get it somewhat figured out.I been running the light schedule for about 2 weeks now and my corals seems to be doing wonderful, very active and poppy. I’ve had my acan for a few month now and this is the most I’ve seen him so active since I’ve adjusted my royals, blue and my white and have them ramping up and down as much as I could to be more in a natural setting as the sun.. if that makes sense. He’s currently out and about swaying his polyps more than he was yesterday so I’m taken it as a happy sign or he’s trying to snatch some copepods 😂
Haha love the idea of him snatching copepods like a tiny coral ninja! That AI Blade with the Mobius app is
Haha yeah, he actually became one of my favorites in there. The green star he sways a bit but not as active as the acan. I’ve been craving to get some torches and hammers but im going to wait quite some time before I add anymore because I want to watch the others grow, I don’t want to over crowd and rush things.
I do have my green star up on the back glass on a frag stand away from the acan, the acan is in front of the tank on the corner of the rock structure so they are far from eachother. All the corals are at a far distance from one another to prevent stings and stuff. Thank you so much again for the kind words and the advice. I haven’t dosed anything because I’m not familiar with dosing the tank just yet. They all seem to be doing great as far as I can see, but all the advice you can give I highly appreciate and I’ll take in. I want to be successful in this hobby and continue to grow as well.
