So I tested parameters today. All looks okay. Nitrates are a little high but nothing concerning (I wouldn’t think). The only thing I see is calcium being pretty high. Anyone have any ideas why I might’ve had the cyano outbreak? I’m trying to make sure once the lights come back on that it doesn’t come back swinging, but I can’t seem to find the root of it. It could just be me not looking in the right place, but hence the questioning.

Could be the balance between ur PO4 and No3. As in the PO4 is too low? It could be a lack of flow also. When I had a Cyano break out I did a big water change with lots of physical removal. Then upped my flow and made sure there weren't dead spots. And then I added a lot of pods in.

Hey Gabe I’ve been there with the cyano struggle! High calcium can sometimes throw off the balance but I wonder if maybe phosphate is too low like Usagi said or if the flow isn’t strong enough in some spots? I’m still figuring out my flow setup and it’s crazy how much it helps with algae

High calcium can def vibe with cyano for sure. Try tweaking flow or dosing a bit?!
