Alguém aí tem alguma experiência com a importância de checar os níveis de iodo? Eu sinto que todos os meus níveis estão bons, mas alguns corais parecem não estar crescendo; se é que estão, é encolhendo devagar com o tempo. Exemplo: clove star polyps, zoas, pulsing Xenia.
Do any of you guys have any experience with the importance of checking iodine levels? I feel all my levels are good but some corals seem to not be growing, if anything shrinking slowly overtime. Example, clove star polyps, zoas, pulsing Xenia.

Com exemplos assim, é possível que sua água esteja limpa demais. Pessoalmente, eu já tive Xenia e zoas diminuindo porque meus nutrientes estavam baixos demais pra eles e, assim que eu aumentei, eles estufaram e ficaram felizes de novo.
With examples like that, it’s possible your water is too clean. Personally I’ve had Xenia and zoas shrink up because my nutrients was to low for them and as soon as I go it up, they puffed up and were happy again.

Ok, obrigado. Vou topar testar enquanto o suplemento de iodo chega. Vou pular uma troca de água essa semana e ver se consigo sinais de mais força/estufamento.
Ok thanks, I’m willing to experiment while the iodine sup comes in. I’ll skip a water change this week and see if I can get signs of strength/puffiness

Difícil dizer pela cor, mas deve estar em torno de 0,15 semana passada quando eu conferi. É um aquário de 20 galões com 5 peixes. Eu adicionei peixes porque eu já tive nutrientes esgotados antes e deu uma explosão de Dino.
Hard to tell by color but it’s around .15 last week when I checked. It’s a 20 gallon with 5 fish in it. I added fish because I have depleted nutrients before and had a Dino outbreak

Vai demorar mais do que uma semana pra ver melhora nos corais. Mas o tempo que levou pra chegar onde você está, dobra isso pra recuperar. Eu também tentaria um jeito diferente de aumentar nutrientes em vez de ficar sem troca. Alimenta mais, alimenta os corais.
It’s gonna take longer than a week to see coral improvement. However long it took to get where you are double that to recover. I’d also find a different way to up nutrients than no water change. Feed more, feed the corals.

Só dá pra estimar o PAR com base no que outros fazem com luz e aquário iguais, mas tô com um Radion ab+ em 50%. Fluxo eu algo meu LFS recomendou tentar aumentar: eu tenho fluxo/movimento mínimo comparado com outros pelo que eu vejo em vídeos também.
Par only estimate based off others with exact light and tank, but running a radion ab+ spectrum at 50%. Flow is something my LFS just recommended to try and bump up, I have minimum flow/movement compared to others from what I can tell through videos too

É uma bomba de retorno melhorada em 500+ gph, só que eu baixei. Hoje eu aumentei e agora tá com os geradores de fluxo aleatório da vca ligados.
It’s an upgraded return pump at 500+gph, just turned down. I turned it up today and it has the vca random flow generators attached now

Tá acontecendo, só foi devagar e só em alguns corais. Gsp, mushrooms, hammers, torches, chalices parecem estar ok.
On going, just slowly and only for some corals. Gsp, mushrooms, hammers, torches, chalices all seem fine.

Não tem como piorar. Tem algo na água que eles não gostam. Também pode ser um culpado tipo uma peça de metal com algum tipo de revestimento em algo que está deteriorando ou tensão perdida. Talvez uma sonda de aterramento se você não conseguir descobrir nada. Vale a pena tentar, é barato.
Can't hurt. There's something in the water they don't like. Could also be a culprit like a coated piece of metal on something deteriorating or stray voltage. Maybe a grounding probe if you can't figure anything out. They're a cheap try.
