🚨 PARE DE PROCURAR LUZES BRILHANTES NO SEU AQUÁRIO 🚨

Tá martelando na minha cabeça desde que alguém falou de boa, "O espectro não faz nada, configura a luz do jeito que você quiser." Tipo, então qual é o negócio da luz de "espectro total"?

Vamos ser honestos:

Se "mais brilhante = melhor", então por que suas corais continuam estressadas e eventualmente morrem?

Aumentar o canal branco? ❌

Maximizar os canais favoritos? ❌

Corais na real querem:

1. Espectro Royal Blue pra fotossíntese

2. Espectro Violeta pra cor e fluorescência

3. Espectro estável pra baixo estresse e alto crescimento

UV/UVA demais = estresse escondido, branqueia em dias, bailout em semanas

Vermelho/Verde alto = os favoritos de alga

"Você não precisa do aquário mais brilhante, você precisa de um aquário em que seus corais prosperem, não só sobrevivam."

It has been on my mind since someone said nonchalantly, "The spectrum does nothing, sets the light as you want." Like, what's the deal with the "full spectrum" light then?

Let's be honest:

If "brighter = better", then why are your corals still stressed and eventually dying?

Cranking up white channel? ❌

Maxing out favorite channels? ❌

Corals actually want:

1. Royal Blue spectrum for photosynthesis

2. Violet spectrum for color and fluorescence

3. Stable spectrum for low stress and high growth

Too much UV/UVA = Hidden stress, bleach in days, bailout in weeks

High Red/Green = Algae favorite

Sou um aquarista novo no reef e tive que aprender na marra. Tudo o que você vê no YouTube fala de estabilidade, eu até tenho um mentor no reef e ele ficava me dizendo pra parar de ficar mexendo nas luzes. Eu não ia ouvir até matar algumas das minhas peças favoritas.

I’m a new reefer and I had to learn the hard way. Everything you watch on YouTube repeats stability, I even have a reef mentor and he kept telling me to stop messing with the lights. I wouldn’t listen until I killed some of my favorite pieces.

Fiz a mesma coisa com a posição do wavemaker também. Duas colônias de torch morreram por causa da minha falta de cuidado 🥲 Mas eu garanti de não repetir os mesmos erros a partir daí. Estabilidade é a chave 🔑

I did the same on the wavemaker positioning too. Poor 2 colonies of torch died from my carelessness 🥲 But I made sure not to do the same mistakes onwards. Stability is the key 🔑

Eu devia ter sacado isso antes, eu tinha uma colônia de Pandora zoa com 40 cabeças, eu mudei minha luz e deixei no talo, as zoas se detonaram completamente, que vergonha, eram bem bonitas

Should have realised this earlier, had a 40 head Pandora zoa colony, I changed my light and had it on full blast, zoas completely nuked themselves, shame, they were very nice

SE, e essa é uma palavra bem grande pra pouca coisa, e só SE você precisar aumentar a intensidade da iluminação, faz isso em incrementos pequenos (5-10%) ao longo de várias semanas. Descobrir onde seus corais ficam felizes e aí manter seu aquário estável é o mais importante.

IF, and that’s a mighty big little word, and only IF you need to increase your lighting intensity, do it in small (5-10%) increments over many weeks. Finding out where your corals are happy, then keeping your tank stable is the key.

Adorei como essas softies estão brilhando com essa iluminação royal blue e violeta! Mostra de verdade como esse espectro matador faz diferença sem ficar explodindo os corais com luz branca demais.

Love how those softies are glowing with that royal blue and violet lighting! It really shows that killer spectrum makes all the difference without blasting corals with too much white light.
