Alguém pode me ajudar a descobrir por que meu aquário tá tão turvo? Fiz uma TPA de 15% ontem na esperança de clarear, mas continua igual. Tem muita alga filamentosa (tá com um lawnmower blenny). Tiramos as pedras da frente ontem e limpamos elas (só com uma escova de dente pra tirar parte da alga) na água que tiramos.
o aquário tem 2,5 meses, tem 3 peixes e bastante CUC. Eu tava adicionando Purple Up por algumas semanas a cada 3 dias mais ou menos e isso deixava a água turva, mas faz quase 2 semanas que não coloco mais por causa da turvação constante.
Por favor, sejam gentis, ainda tô aprendendo. Meus parâmetros estão abaixo e têm se mantido. Usei o método da Dr Tim pro startup e desde meados de janeiro tenho 0 nitritos e 0 amônia.
Can anyone help me figure out why my tank is so cloudy? Did a 15% water change yesterday hoping it would clear, but it's the same. We have a lot of hair algae (got a lawnmower blenny). We took the front rocks out yesterday and cleaned them (just with a toothbrush to get some of the algae off) in the water we took out.
Tank is 2.5 months old, has 3 fish and a bunch of CUC. I was adding Purple Up for a few weeks every 3 days or so and that was making it cloudy, but haven't added any in almost 2 weeks because of the constant cloudiness.
Please be kind, I'm still learning. My parameters are below and have been steady. We used Dr Tim's method for startup and have had 0 Nitrites and 0 Ammonia since mid-January.

Eu já tive uma proliferação bacteriana assim também mexendo demais na areia/pedras. Tirar as pedras e remexer a areia provavelmente bagunçou essa proliferação.
I've gotten a bacterial bloom like that from messing too much with the sand/rocks. Taking the rocks out and disturbing the sand likely disturbed the bloom.

Thank you for the response. I'm going to give it a few more days to settle. It was cloudy before we cleaned it yesterday, so I'm not sure that was the culprit, but I'm sure it didn't help.
Pode levar algumas semanas pra a proliferação diminuir. Se os parâmetros estiverem bons, só tenha paciência e deixa seguir. Seu aquário tá formando a biodiversidade. No fim, as bactérias boas vão competir e ela vai clarear de novo. O principal é ficar de olho nos níveis de oxigênio. As bactérias podem roubar muito oxigênio da coluna d’água e os peixes podem sofrer. Eu literalmente acabei de passar por uma proliferação no meu aquário umas semanas atrás. Eu só continuei minha rotina normal e foi com paciência. Eventualmente clareou, mas levou algumas semanas.
It can take a couple weeks for a bloom to go down. As long as parameters are good just be patient and let it work itself out. Your tank is building its biodiversity. Eventually good bacteria will out compete it and it’ll clear out again. Biggest thing to keep an eye on is oxygen levels. The bacteria can really steal a lot of the oxygen in the water column and fish can struggle. I literally just got thru a bloom in my tank a couple weeks ago. All I did was continue my normal husbandry and be patient. It eventually cleared up but took a couple weeks.

Obrigado. Eu também já vi isso quando o magnésio fica baixo demais. Eu tentei dosar cálcio antes porque tava baixo e eu não tava checando o magnésio — e deixou o aquário todo turvo assim até eu subir meu magnésio. Eu conferiria isso também. O magnésio ajuda a ligação do cálcio com as coisas e, se estiver baixo, você vai ver uma “névoa” branca no aquário por causa de todo o cálcio extra que não consegue ser absorvido.
Tbh I’ve also seen this when your magnesium gets too low. I tried to dose calcium before because it was low and I wasn’t checking magnesium and it made my whole tank cloudy like that until I got my magnesium up. I would check that too. Magnesium helps the calcium bond to stuff and if it’s too low, you’ll have a white “mist” in the tank from all the extra calcium that can’t be absorbed.

Porque eu pelo menos teria um kit pra testar (depois de ciclar) amônia (só quando você vê que as coisas estão estranhas) nitrato, fosfato, cálcio, magnésio, alcalinidade, salinidade e pH.
Because I would at least have a test kit for (after cycled) Ammonia(only when you see things are upset) Nitrate, phosphate, calcium, magnesium, alkalinity, salinity, and PH

Sim, o cálcio tá no limite alto e o magnésio tá bem baixo. Aposto que é isso.
Yeah calcium is on the high end and mag is pretty low. I’m willing to bet that’s it

Isso é parte do new tank syndrome; é uma questão de tempo bacteriano — a solução é só garantir que os níveis de salinidade fiquem consistentes em 0,025 e em uns dias isso vai passar.

Depende do tamanho do aquário, da frequência das TPA etc. Tipo de duas em duas semanas. Tem que ver o que funciona no seu aquário. Se você acabou de fazer isso e seus parâmetros estão ok, e ele tá numa área de alto fluxo, dá 2-3 dias e vê se o aquário clareia. Mas você ia ver melhorias bem visíveis todo dia.
Depends on the size of the tank, frequency of the water changes etc. Every other week ish. Gotta see what works for your tank. If you just did this and your params are fine, and its in high flow area, give it 2-3 days and see if your tank clears. Though you'd see significant improvements everyday.

Com certeza tá melhor hoje do que ontem, mas ainda não clareou. Tenho um aquário de 50 galões e fazemos TPA a cada 1-2 semanas de uns 15%. O carvão fica atrás, aquário AIO, então a água passa por ele o dia todo. Disseram pra eu trocar o carvão uma vez a cada 4-6 meses. Eu não sabia que precisava trocar tão frequentemente.
It definitely looks better today than it did yesterday, but not cleared up yet. I have a 50 gallon tank and we do water changes every 1-2 weeks of about 15%. The carbon is in the back, it's an AIO tank, so water is flowing thru it all day. I was told I should change the carbon once every 4-6 months. I didn't realize I should be changing it so often.

Troca o carvão de novo. Se seu aquário tinha bastante acúmulo e você não tava usando muito carvão... só ficou pra trás. Você tava vendo resultados. Mas sim, confere os parâmetros também
Change the carbon again. If your tank had a lot of buildup and you weren't using much carbon.... just catching up. You were seeing results. But yes check params too

Acho que tem carvão demais aí. Meu BF falou que ele colocou 2 saquinhos no aquário esses dias SMH (eu não sabia disso até uns 15 min atrás). Meus parâmetros ainda estão ok (ainda não tive chance de fazer Cálcio, Mg e Alk. Meu aquário ainda tá super turvo).
I think there's too much carbon in there. My BF told me he put bags 2 in it the other day SMH (I didn't know this until about 15 min ago). My parameters are fine still (haven't had a chance to do the Calcium, Mg and Alk yet. My tank is still super cloudy.

Não sei quais são os tipos de alga. Eu sei que a gente tem alga-cabelo porque é mais comprida e mais enroscada. Eu desliguei todas as cores menos a azul, esperando que ajudasse a clarear também, mas não parece estar fazendo muita diferença.
I'm not sure what the different types of algae are. I know we have hair algae because it's longer and stringier. I turned off all of the colors except the blue hoping it would help clear it up too, but it doesn't seem to be doing much.

Algumas algas não precisam de luz. Faz uma identificação da sua alga (microscópio e fóruns de reef) e trata com o tratamento certo. Eu manteria ou trocaria o carvão. Esse hobby é lento... até que não é.
Some alge don't need lights. Get a identification of your alge (microscope and reef forums) and treat w right treatment. Id keep or replace carbon. This hobby is slow....till its not.
Eu peguei isso uns dias atrás, tirei o skimmer e o carvão, só filtro mecânico, e as bombas. Em 2-3 dias vai ficar claro de novo, talvez seja porque você tá com 0 nitrato e 0 fosfato, isso acontece comigo
I got that a few days ago, i remove the skimmer and the carbon, only mechanical filter, and the pumps, in 2-3 days its going to be clear again, maybe its because you have 0 nitrate and 0 fosfate, that happens to me

A única vez que eu tive água turva assim foi quando eu tinha uma carga biológica grande de coisas morrendo. Tipo alga ou caramujos morrendo. Rodar meu skimmer por 48 horas tirou todo o material biológico e a água clareou. Você tem sump ou skimmer já?
The only time I had cloudy water like this is when I had a large bio load of things dying. Like algae or snails dying. Running my skimmer for 48 hours completely removed all the biological material and then water cleared up. I’m not sure if you have a sump or skimmer already?
O skimmer fica ligado o tempo todo. É um aquário AIO. Não tem caramujo morrendo, mas tem muita alga (por isso o lawnmower blenny). Talvez precise de mais CUC.
We have a skimmer running at all times. It's an AIO tank. No snails dying, but lots of algae (hence the lawnmower blenny). Might need more of a CUC.
