Olá pessoal, Vocês podem me ajudar a identificar essas manchas brancas...

Parece ser ou Ich ou Veludo. Eu nunca tive nenhuma das duas, então não consigo ajudar muito. @MalEficent recentemente tratou com sucesso um tang roxo com ich e pode conseguir ajudar.

Colocar os peixes afetados em quarentena pode ajudar a reduzir perdas, mas se for mesmo ich, então ele está no aquário e o aquário vai precisar ser tratado. A opção mais segura é: QT > tratar os peixes > limpar bem o aquário ou substituir (e aí ciclar um novo aquário sem nada do antigo, a não ser que tenha sido limpo completamente). Parece ich, mas não é fácil confirmar pelas fotos. Tem invertebrados ou coral? Se for Ich e não tiver coral nem invertebrados, então dá pra tratar o aquário principal. Provavelmente vai precisar trocar as pedras e a areia (direitinho) depois de terminar o tratamento. Tratamentos não são bem “reef-safe”, mas já tive sucesso com Copper Power (com troca adequada de areia e pedras depois do tratamento) e então reintroduzi invertebrados (sem coral) sem nenhum problema ou mudança na qualidade de vida deles.

Quarantining affected fish can help reduce loss, but if this is actually ich, then it’s in the tank and the tank will need to be addressed. Safest option is QT > treat fish > thoroughly clean aquarium or replace it (then cycle new tank with nothing from old tank unless it has been thoroughly cleaned). It does seem like ich, but not easy to confirm with photos. Any inverts or coral? If Ich and no coral or inverts, then you can treat the main display. Will most likely need to replace rocks and sand (properly), once done with treatment. Treatments aren’t really “reef-safe” but I’ve had success with Copper Power (with proper sand and rock replacement after treatment) and then re-adding inverts (no coral) with zero issues or changes to their quality of life.

Ai não 😢 pelo bem dos seus peixes, espero que seja ich. Ich pode ser fatal, mas dá pra tratar/gerenciar. Infelizmente, pra mim parece mais veludo. Veludo cobre o peixe mais do que o ich, as “manchinhas” são menores e se espalha extremamente rápido. Ich pode levar várias semanas pra aparecer nos peixes e, como os peixes do seu pedido já estão com sinais, provavelmente é veludo. Veludo tem alta taxa de mortalidade, mas dá pra tratar. Eu sugiro tirar TODOS os peixes para um aquário de quarentena o mais rápido possível e começar o tratamento. Depois deixar o aquário principal sem peixes por 6 semanas.

Oh no 😢 for your fishes sake I hope it’s ich. Ich can be deadly but can be treated/managed. Unfortunately, this looks more like velvet to me. Velvet covers the fish more than ich, spots are smaller, and it spreads extremely rapidly. Ich can take several weeks to show up on fish and considering your order fish are already showing signs it’s likely velvet. Velvet has a high mortality rate but can be treated. I suggest removing ALL fish into a quarantine tank as fast as possible and starting treatment. Then leave display fallow for 6 weeks.

Como follow up do tratamento: o tratamento é basicamente o mesmo tanto pra ich quanto pra veludo. Como @billy mencionou, eu tratei com sucesso um tang roxo num caso bem extremo de ich. Dá bastante trabalho, principalmente com vários peixes, mas dá sim. Eu usei três aquários. Um aquário fica como observação. Os outros dois são usados para o tratamento de duas semanas. Comece os peixes em um aquário e dosar cobre até um nível terapêutico. Deixe por dois dias e depois transfira os peixes para o segundo aquário com cobre terapêutico. Esterilize o primeiro aquário com vinagre ou água sanitária. Deixe agir e secar completamente. Troque os aquários a cada dois dias mantendo o cobre terapêutico. Depois de duas semanas, transfira os peixes para o terceiro aquário de observação por duas semanas. Aí o tratamento essencialmente está completo: você só garante que tudo resolveu e que o tratamento foi bem-sucedido por duas semanas na observação antes de voltar pro aquário principal. As duas semanas de observação são pra aquários que não foram infectados; no seu caso, como o seu aquário está afetado, você deixaria em observação por 4 semanas para veludo ou 9 semanas para ich pra limpar o aquário. Tem opções de tratamento no próprio aquário, mas normalmente não são tão eficazes em casos severos. O “pulo do gato”/parte cara desse método é que você precisa ter três de TUDO pra não contaminar os aquários entre si: três aquecedores, três wave makers ou pedras de ar, e três conjuntos de esconderijos/cano de PVC pra peixes. Se você começar o tratamento agora, os outros peixes provavelmente vão sobreviver a esse método se estiverem bem alimentados e saudáveis antes de começarem a adoecer. Esse aqui é meio na sorte/azar. Boa sorte!! Você consegue!

As a follow up for treatment, the treatment is essentially the same for both ich and velvet. As @billy mentioned, I successfully treated a purple tang with an extreme case of ich. It’s a lot of work, especially with multiple fish but absolutely can be done. I used three tanks. One tank is set up as an observation tank. The other two tanks are used for a two week treatment. Start the fish in one tank and dose copper to a therapeutic level. Leave them there for two days then transfer the fish to the secondary tank with copper at a therapeutic level. Sterilize the first tank with vinegar or bleach. Let sit and completely dry. Switch tanks every two days at therapeutic copper levels. After two weeks transfer the fish to the third observation tank for two weeks. The treatment is essentially complete at this point you’re just making sure everything has resolved and treatment was successful for two weeks in observation before transferring to the main display. The two weeks for observation is for displays that haven’t been infected, in your case since your display is affected you would keep them in observation for 4 weeks for velvet or 9 weeks for ich to clear your display. There are in tank treatment options but they generally aren’t as effective for severe cases. The trick/expensive part about this method is you need to have three of EVERYTHING to not cross contaminate tanks. Three heaters, three wave makers or air stones, and three sets of fish hides/pvc. If you start treatment now your other fish will likely survive this method if they are fat and healthy before they got sick. This guy is hit or miss. Good luck!! You got this!

Desculpa por responder bem extra 😂 mas o tratamento tradicional é cobre terapêutico por 30 dias. O problema é que cobre é tóxico e cobra um preço dos peixes, e às vezes o peixe acaba sucumbindo ao tratamento mesmo assim, independentemente da doença. Mesmo assim, com as 2 semanas, meu tang saiu com HLLE mas ela se recuperou bem rápido com os cuidados certos. O método de duas semanas eu peguei de humble fish, se você precisar/querer mais explicação.

Sorry to be super extra in response 😂 but traditional treatment is therapeutic copper for 30 days. The problem with this is copper is toxic and takes a toll on fish and sometimes fish succumb to the treatment regardless of the illness. Even with the 2 weeks my tang came out with HLLE but she recovered pretty quickly from that with proper care. The two week method I got from humble fish if you need/want more explanation.

Obrigado a todos pelas respostas! Esta manhã eu olhei todos os meus peixes: infelizmente eu não acho que meu tang vai aguentar. Eu alimentei eles hoje de manhã, todos comem menos o tang. Ele parece bem apático, e não consegue nadar direito. Também parece que ele ficou menor em tamanho comparado com quando eu comprei, e a barriga dele também parece estar mais “estufada”. Quanto ao puffer, algumas das manchas brancas caíram, eu comprei ele junto com o tang, mas ele ainda parece saudável (tirando as manchas brancas). Eu também não tenho nenhum invertebrado nem coral; comecei esse hobby no começo do ano! E eu só recentemente introduzi copepods e estou dosando o aquário com Live Phyto Feast. De novo, obrigado a todos pela ajuda!!

Thank you all for you responses! This morning I looked at all my fish, unfortunately I don’t think my tang will make it. I feed them this morning they all eat except the tang. He seems very lethargic, and can’t swim properly. It also seems like he has gotten smaller in size compared to when I got him, his stomach also seems to bulge. As for the puffer some of the white spots have fallen off, I got him along side the tang but he still seems healthy (aside from the white spots). I also don’t have any inverts or coral I just started this hobby at the beginning of the year! I also just recently introduced copepods and have been dosing the tank with Live Phyto Feast. Again that you all for the help!!

Quarentena sim, mas ICK tá em todo aquário, infelizmente. É o sistema imunológico dos peixes que consegue empurrar a doença… quarentena e dosar cobre sim, mas você precisa alimentá-los com um suplemento extra pro sistema imune… SELCON! Quarantine yes, But ICK is in every tank unfortunately it’s the fishes immune system to be able to push through the sickness… quarantine and dosing copper yes but you need to feed them with a extra supplement for immune system … SELCON ! James, obrigado pelo seu feedback! WWC é exatamente o lugar onde eu vou pra todas as minhas necessidades com peixes! Todos os meus peixes no meu DT atual vieram da WWC. Eu também uso Selcon; ontem eu achei que ia chegar em casa com mais um peixe a menos, mas graças a Deus não foi! O scopas parece estar se recuperando, sem mais manchas… mas ainda tem um “revestimento” esbranquiçado/nublado no corpo. A barriga não está mais estufada, voltou a comer. Mesma coisa com o puffer: as manchas não estão mais lá. Eu sei que todos os meus peixes já ficaram com cobre antes de eu comprar. Eu também não quero fazer nenhuma medicação se não for necessário pra evitar estressar os peixes. Eu realmente aprecio todo mundo e o feedback incrível! Obrigado!!

James thank you for your feedback! WWC is the exact place I go for all my fish needs! All my fish in my current DT have been from WWC. I also use Selcon, yesterday I thought I would arrive home to one less fish but thankfully I did not! The scopas seems to be making a recovery, no more spots… But it does still have a cloudy coating on the body. The stomach isn’t bulging any more, started eating again. Same thing with the puffer the spots are not there anymore. I know all my fish have been in copper before I purchased them. I also don’t want to do any medication if it’s not necessary to avoid stressing the fish out. I really appreciate all of you and your amazing feed back! Thank you!!

Bem, se as manchas caíram é provável que seja ich. Infelizmente, seu aquário agora tem ich e não vai desaparecer só assim. Os peixes que você tem no aquário talvez sejam fortes o suficiente pra aguentar, mas um peixe novo adicionado pode contrair ich e o ciclo continua.

Well if the spots have fallen off it's likely ich . Unfortunately you tank now has ich it will not just go away . The fish you have in the tank might be strong enough to fight it off , but and new fish added might contract ich and the cycle will continue.
