I need help‼️
Sorry for the long post
My tank is about 3 months old.. added my coral and fish after the initial cycle to where my ammonia dissipates 2ppm in about 2-3 days. I added fish and corals about a month ago. My soft corals are doing AWESOME, growing! The sps coral not so well. I screwed up though, I have a canister filter (see why people avoid them now) and I cleaned my filters (not the media) after the diatoms started to turn green. I think I have accidentally restarted the cycle... if you look at my parameters, I can "overfeed" and in a couple days my ammonia spikes, dissipates, then It seems to not turn to nitrites to be able to turn into nitrates... how do I get nitrates?
My first set up newbie…. Currently finishing up the cycling process
pH: 8.0–8.2
Ammonia: 0 ppm
Nitrite: 0–0.25 ppm
Nitrate: 0–5 ppm
Can someone help me or help me create a day by day schedule to help my tank im dosing neophos and prime but my reading are
Salinity 1.024
Alkalinity 15.3
PH 7.4
Phosphate 0
Nitrate 50-100
Nitrite 0.1
Ammonia 0.25
It’s only a 52L tank. I have a frogspawn(closed few days) everything else is fine 2 clownfish urchin torch and mushroom
I just started a hopefully long hobby of marine fish keeping. I finished mixing water yesterday and added ammonia for a fishlesss cycle. I look forward to learning a lot here!
The tank has finally cycled after 5 weeks did a 25% water change to drop nitrate both ammonia and nitrite 0
It’s been a long journey since December 20th with my first saltwater tank. Many battles and an ammonia struggle but all a learning process. Fixed all issues and fish are thriving. Tank is finally going through the dirty phase. Nitrites and nitrates still at 0 and ammonia at 0 so hoping we start seeing a shift.
Ugh newbie here and this isn’t an easy hobby! Began the day with ammonia reading .36 did a 10% water change new reading down to .21 with Seachem prime dosage.
Just added bacteria and ammonia today. Wish me luck!!

Struggling with something, doing 25% water changes every week nite phos ammo all 0 ph 8.2 salinity 37.5 I get this in less than 3 days
Hello, everyone I’m new to hobby and I have a 38g anyway I started the cycle with Dr Tim’s and put in the recommended ammonia amount. I’m on day 7 and the ammonia has not dropped and on Dr Tim’s testing page says to add more ammonia. I have NOT added anymore ammonia because it has not dropped any any tips would be appreciated!
After a cycle stall and sky high nitrites, the tank is finally cycled at 0 ammonia and 0 nitrites. Time to add some fish!!
What do I do I think my cycle has stalled water test have not moved in a week new reef tank cycle fishless dr Tim’s method?
