Description
The Purple Hammer Coral, scientifically known as Euphyllia ancora, is a popular choice among reef aquarists due to its striking purple coloration and unique hammer-shaped tentacles. It is a large polyp stony (LPS) coral that adds dynamic movement to the aquarium with its swaying tentacles. While it is relatively hardy, it requires stable water parameters and moderate lighting and flow to thrive. It can be semi-aggressive, extending its sweeper tentacles to defend its space, so it should be placed at a safe distance from other corals.
