Ich bin dabei, 6 Becher- und Artemia-Kulturen anzusetzen, damit der kleine Kerl in meinem 31-Gallonen-Nano gut gefüttert ist. Bis dahin frisst er sich an den Copepoden auf meinem Gestein satt und auch an den Hikari-Frozen-Cyclopods. Drück mir die Daumen!

Getting ready to set up 6 pod and brine cultures to keep this little dude well fed in my 31 gallon nano. In the meantime, he’s feasting on the pods on my rock as well as hikari frozen cyclopods. Wish me luck!

Total cool. Copepoden- und Artemia-Zuchtkulturen? Ich hab mal ein Brine-Kit mit getrockneten Eiern gemacht und es hat ganz ok geklappt, nicht das allerbeste aha. Wie gehst du da ran, die Kulturen aufzubauen?

Ich stell mir ein paar Tupperwares hin mit Luftschläuchen von einer Air-Pump für die Belüftung. 5 Kulturen sind Pods, während die anderen eine Artemia-Brutstätte mit getrockneten Eiern werden. Ich bin so paranoid, dass dieser Fisch ausgemergelt wird, also mach ich alles, um das zu verhindern, auch wenn ich ihn wieder in den Fischladen bringen muss, falls er anfängt, schnell Gewicht zu verlieren

I’m going to have some Tupperwares with airline tubes from an air pump for aeration. 5 cultures will be pods while they be will be a brine hatchery with dried eggs. I’m so paranoid about this fish getting emaciated so I’m going to do everything I can to prevent that, though I will have to bring him back to the fish store if he starts losing a bunch of weight

Nice. Ich würd gern sehen, wie du das mit der Kultur aufbaust, sobald es läuft. Ich hab gehört, die sind ziemlich wählerisch beim Fressen, also klingt es so, als würdest du alles richtig machen. Ich hab selbst keine Erfahrung mit einer Mandarin.

Nice. I’d love to see the culture set up once you have it running. I’ve heard they are finicky eaters so it sounds like you are doing everything right. I don’t have any experience with a mandarin myself.

Meine Kulturen für meine Pods kämpfen. Keine Ahnung warum. Sie vermehren sich einfach gar nicht so schnell.

My cultures for my pods are struggling not sure why. They just aren’t reproducing fast at all.

Wie ist dein Setup? Ich drück die Daumen, dass ich keine Probleme hab—hab meins heute erst eingerichtet

What is your setup like? I’m crossing my fingers I don’t have any issues, I just got mine setup today

Sie überleben ganz gut, aber vermehren sich kaum. Ich nutze ein 5-Gallonen-Becken mit einem kleinen Schwammfilter, der ein paar winzige Blasen pro Sekunde durch einen Luftschlauch bläst.

They survive fine just don’t reproduce really. I’m using a 5 gallon tank with a tiny sponge filter that puts a few tiny bubbles per second through an airline.

Hmm, das Einzige, was mir einfällt, ist, dass sie im Schwamm hängen bleiben. Ein Luftschlauch sollte eigentlich reichen. Welche Pods züchtest du und womit fütterst du sie?

Hmm, only thing I could think of is that they may be getting caught in the sponge. An airline should be plenty. Which pods are you culturing and what are you feeding them?
