Nano Reef

Snapped some photos of our corals around our 300l display the other day! Our Utter Chaos Zoas are doing crazy good, really want to frag them and get one into the nano! But I don’t know how to frag Zoa’s 🤣 Our green morph colony looks sick, and of course so do our fluffy morphs! We ended up taking our Superman Rhodactis out of the main display because he wasn’t looking very happy 🥺 When I was acclimating him to the nano tank, I noticed that Bristle-worms had made a nice little home inside his rock and underneath his body. So I spent the time removing the ones that were annoying him most, while slowly adding more of the nano tank water to the container. Literally as soon as he went into the nano tank, he was already looking so much better! This Superman Rhodactis has 3 heads and is super pretty, I can’t wait for him to come out in full! We added 3 x other Morph variant corals too and a small Zoathiad frag! Yay! So excited!! 🐠🪸😍

Conch wave ! Making light work of the diatoms , currently in the ugly phase. Any other recommendations for CUC to add or leave as they are ? Been in a week and a lot of algae build up on the rock work. I have a tuxedo urchin and 3 turbo snails also, but don’t want to overstock (80 litres)

Nano Tank Update! 🐠🪸

After the last round of Salifert tests showed the alkalinity had dropped and the calcium had dropped. We decided that it was a good time to do our first water change to try bring it up! We did approximately a 20% water change, maybe 16l all up, and left it for 5 days before retesting.

Results are in! Alkalinity is up, Calcium is up, Nitrate is down, and Nitrite is gone! Pretty stoked with how it’s going, can’t wait for fish! 🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠🐠

The 80L AIO Nano reef is cycled and ready to go! In the last week we added in the manual filter roller mat and the Jebao DLW-5 Wavemaker to help move that detritus out through the roller mat and skimmer. We have been just dusting off the rock work daily to help loosen it up as well.

Parameters, Our Ammonia and Nitrite has been at zero for 2 weeks now, our alkalinity is sitting at 7.3, the nitrate is sitting steady at 10ppm, and calcium is sitting a little lower at 370 which is fine for a no livestock tank.

The plan now is for a 20-25% water change, keep loosening the detritus from the rock and skimming it out. Dosing copepods and phytoplankton that we culture ourselves, and hopefully add in a pair of clowns in the next week or so! 🐠🪸

Hello all, I am brand new to the hobby. This is my very first reef tank. It is a TMC First wave 48L (UK measurement) in the past, I had cold water and tropical fish.

I started this tank on Jully 11th 2026. I'm thinking of getting some black pvc sheeting for the back of the tank, which I will put on the outside.

Love the reef. Attempting a 2 gallon anenome tank. Letting it cycle rn

About 6 months in on this EVO 5 AIO. So happy to see the newest additions out and about! (Pompom crab and dancer shrimp are about two months into this habitat).
