Una pregunta que tengo es que usé arena viva y un poco de roca viva. También dosifiqué bacterias y amoníaco. Mi prueba más reciente muestra casi 0 amoníaco, 0 nitrito y .2 nitrato. ¿Qué significa eso? ¿Mi ciclo ya se completó? ¡Gracias a todos!
Hello! I’m happy to have joined this community, this is my first tank so I’m looking forward to learn from those with more experience and wisdom than me. If you have any advice please share with me! Let me know how I did for my first NSA aquascape.
One question I have is, I used live sand and some live rock. I also dosed bacteria and ammonia. My most recent test is showing near 0 ammonia, 0nitrite and .2 nitrate. What does that say? Is my cycle complete? Thanks everyone!

Me encanta lo que hiciste con el rock scape, con respecto al ciclo, ¿cuándo empezaste el ciclo? Yo usé la guía de ciclado sin peces de Dr. Tim’s y mi acuario estuvo ciclado en 2 semanas.
Love what you’ve done with the rock scape, in regards to the cycle, when did you start the cycle? I used Dr. Tim’s fishless cycling guide and my tank was cycled in 2 weeks.

¡Gracias! Usé Prodbio micro startup, es una compañía francesa que hace viales de amoníaco y bacterias; decía peces listos en 12hrs. Así que no estoy seguro, no pude encontrar mucha info sobre eso en línea.
Thank you! I used Prodbio micro startup, it’s a French company that makes vials of ammonia and bacteria it said fish ready in 12hrs. So I’m not sure couldn’t find much info about it online.

La opción más segura siempre es esperar hasta que el amoníaco esté en 0 absoluto y el Nitrite en 0 absoluto. ¡Y ver algo de Nitrate! Espero que esto ayude y bienvenido al hobby
The safest option is always wait till absolute 0 ammonia absolute 0 Nitrite. And see some Nitrate! Hope this helps and welcome to the hobby
Si las bacterias que tienes pueden mantener el amoníaco y el nitrite en cero, ya estás listo. ¡También asegúrate de separar la Xenia del resto del rock work! No les creí a los que me lo dijeron, pero crece tan rápido como dicen. La mía pasó del tamaño de una moneda de 25 centavos al tamaño de una pelota de softball en 6 meses. Me gusta tenerla en una “isla” cerca de la parte frontal de mi tank porque sí se ve súper padre con la corriente
If the bacteria you have can keep the ammonia and nitrite at zero, you’re good to go. Also, make sure to separate the Xenia from the rest of the rock work! I didn’t believe people when they told me but it grows as fast as people say. Mine went from the size of a quarter to the size of a softball in 6 months. I like having it on an “island” near the front of my tank because it does look super cool in the flow

¡Gracias por el consejo! Por suerte esa roca es live rock que no está conectada al scape principal, planeo quitarla cuando todo esté estable por un tiempo. ¡Luego moveré la Xenia!
Thanks for the advice! Luckily that rock is some live rock that’s not connected to the main scape, I plan on removing it when everything is stable for a while. I’ll move the Xenia then!
¡No hay problema! La gente habla mal de Xenia pero en mi opinión eso solo pasa si se maneja mal. Es un gran relleno de espacio y como crece tan rápido también te hace sentir que estás logrando algo jajaja Además, es fantástica para absorber nitratos; de hecho tengo que dosificar neonitro para mantenerlo detectable
No problem! People talk bad about Xenia but in my opinion that’s only if it’s mismanaged. It’s a great space filler and because it grows so fast it makes you feel like you’re accomplishing something too lol Also, it’s fantastic at sucking up nitrates; I actually have to dose neonitro to keep it detectable
