Lamento tu pérdida. Algo parecido le pasó a mi Tang Scopas, honestamente pensé que no lo iba a lograr pero lo hizo y desde entonces se ha recuperado. Ahora no estoy 100% seguro de qué tenía pero se parecía a lo que tenía tu pez. Tengo una foto en mi perfil si quieres echar un vistazo y comparar. Agregué una medicación en su comida que fue Focus y Metroplex de Seachem, también uso Selcon ya que esto ayuda a reforzar su sistema inmunológico.
Sorry for your loss, Similar thing happened to my Scopas Tang, honestly thought it wasn’t going to make it but it did and since then has made a recovery. Now I’m not 100% sure what it had but it looked similar to what your fish had. I have a picture on my profile if you’d like to take a look and compare. I did add a medication their food which was Focus and Metroplex from Seachem, I also use Selcon as this helps boost their immune system.

When treating a fish, it’s crucial to act quickly as soon as you notice symptoms. I typically begin with Prazipro, and then after 2-3 days, I introduce copper. Once I reach the therapeutic level, I add antibiotics to prevent gill infections. However, in this case, time was not on my side. If I encounter a similar situation again, I plan to start with a 30-minute hydrogen peroxide treatment before proceeding with medication. I've treated many fish, but this particular case left me uncertain about the specific disease affecting the fish.

Agree on the h2o2 bath first. But im curious why you wait 2-3 days after prazipro liquid before starting copper? Ich or velvet, treatment is the same.

En el día 3, mi nivel de cobre está en 0,25, y aumenta a 0,44 en el día 4. En el día 6, cuando termino prazipro, el nivel de cobre es alrededor de 0,50. En ese punto, subiré el cobre a niveles terapéuticos y empezaré a agregar antibióticos. Prefiero no mezclar demasiados medicamentos a la vez, ya que podría no ser beneficioso para el pez.
On day 3, my copper level is at 0.25, and it increases to 0.44 by day 4. By day 6, when I finish prazipro, the copper level is around 0.50. At that point, I’ll raise the copper to therapeutic levels and start adding antibiotics. I prefer not to mix too many medications at once, as it might not be beneficial for the fish.

Con peces sensibles al cobre, una rampa lenta está justificada. Pero cuando un brote de ictiosis está tan avanzado, sugiero ir directamente a niveles terapéuticos de cobre y prazi y nitrofurazona. With copper sensitive fish a slow ramp is warranted. But when this far along an ich outbreak id suggest go straight to therapeutic levels of copper and prazi and nitrofurazone. Its the only chance. Tangs aren't copper sensitive like wrasse but even then if you have no choice. Its a time bomb. Especially if its velvet.

I'm keeping a close eye on this tank. I've noticed some sand-scratching behavior in a few fish today, so I'm planning to quarantine all of them. I will share a video later today,of the powder blue tang as he was behaving normally before he passed away.

La mejor manera de erradicar la ictiosis de tu acuario de arrecife y prevenir futuras infecciones es remover todos tus peces para tratamiento en un acuario de cuarentena y dejar que el parásito muera en el acuario de exposición "en barbecho". Trata todos tus peces con medicación de cobre en un acuario QT separado y mantenlos aislados durante 4-8 semanas. Una vez que el parásito no pueda encontrar un huésped en tu acuario de exposición, presumiblemente morirá completamente después de que pase por su ciclo de vida (aproximadamente 4 semanas).
The best way to eradicate Ich from your reef aquarium and prevent further infection is to remove all your fish for treatment in a quarantine tank and let the parasite die out in the "fallow" display. Treat all your fish with copper medication in a separate QT tank and keep them isolated for 4-8 weeks. Once the parasite is not able to find a host in your display tank, it will presumably die off completely after it runs through its lifecycle (roughly 4 weeks).

I’ve started doing more research on this since it’s been a common questions. Seems like velvet is a tinier particle about the size of powder sugar. While ich is about the size of salt. ( your pic looks more like salt to me ) Also fish don’t survive velvet very long. If this has been more than a few days that would lead me to believe ich.

Unfortunately, the fish passed away suddenly. I noticed a significant color change, turning a drake-like purple, and it began hiding—behavior that was unusual for it. I had attempted to quarantine the fish, but it didn’t survive. I suspect the display tank may be the source of the illness, as I typically treat my fish before introducing them to it.

I noticed it two days ago; at first, I thought it was just sand stuck to the fish's skin. However, today the entire fish was covered in white spots, and it looks really bad. The fish's behavior has changed too; it doesn't move much and keeps hiding away.
