Description
The Crimson Wrasse is a vibrant saltwater fish known for its striking red coloration and elongated body. It has a characteristic black spot on the base of its tail and a white stripe that runs from its eye to its pectoral fin. This species is popular among aquarists due to its beautiful appearance and active behavior.
Reef Safe
Crimson Wrasses are generally considered to be reef safe, although they may prey on small invertebrates and crustaceans. Therefore, they may not be suitable for tanks with small, delicate, or slow-moving invertebrates.
Environment
The Crimson Wrasse prefers a tank with plenty of hiding spots and open swimming space. They need a sandy substrate as they like to burrow into the sand when they feel threatened or during the night for sleep.
Behavior
Crimson Wrasses are active swimmers and are known to be quite playful. They enjoy exploring their environment and are generally peaceful towards other species. However, they may become territorial if kept in a smaller tank or with other wrasses.
