Reef Safe

Yes, the Orangetail Damsel is considered reef safe but can be a threat to smaller, more timid fish.

Environment

The Orangetail Damsel prefers a well-decorated aquarium with plenty of hiding places. It appreciates a moderate to strong water flow and will thrive in a tank with a stable temperature and salinity.

Behavior

This species is known to be territorial and can be aggressive towards other fish, especially those of the same species. It is best to keep one Orangetail Damsel per tank unless the tank is large enough to accommodate multiple territories.

What You Feed: Frozen, pellets

This fish is always swimming around and I haven’t had any issues with it being aggressive. It is in a 125 gallon so idk if that’s what helps with its temperament but it has been a model citizen fish.

They can pick on smaller tank mates, but usually it’s not an extended problem. They have really great color and look beautiful under all types of lights
