Ok quindi avevo una vecchia vasca da 29 galloni in garage e non mi piace davvero l’allestimento attuale con il mio sump. Così ho deciso di costruirmelo da solo. Ho comprato tutta la roba e adesso sto solo pianificando. Voglio farci stare sia lo schiumatoio che un refugium, perché ho un mandarino e voglio un buon surplus di copepodi. Secondo te questo set up va bene? Spero che in futuro magari tolga i calzettoni e faccia tipo 30 poi 40 poi 50 ppi (forse anche di più se ce l’hanno). Così non devo preoccuparmi di cambiare i calzettoni ogni 2-3 giorni.
Sembrava che tagliasse via la parte originale, quindi posterò entrambe le facce di quella cosa per sicurezza
Okay so I had an old 29 gallon in the garage and I really don’t like my current set up with my sump. So I decided to build my own. I bought all the stuff and I’m just planning now. I want to fit both the skimmer and a refugium because I have a mandarin and want a good copepod surplus. Does this set up look ok? I’m hoping that in the future I might just take the socks out and do maybe a 30 then 40 then 50 ppi(maybe more if they have that). Just so I don’t have to worry about replacing socks every 2-3 days.
It looked like it cut off the original so I’m going to post both sides of it to be safe

Hai comprato un kit per i setti? Oppure stai tagliando pezzi in acrilico su misura per le sezioni del sump?
Is this a baffle kit you bought? Or are you cutting custom acrylic pieces for the sump sections?

Ok figo. Ho comprato un kit e ti faccio vedere come ho sistemato il mio. Il sump e il refugium hanno dei fori tra loro (blu scuro) così il livello dell’acqua è uguale (blu chiaro). E poi, dal refugium alla pompa di ritorno, è ribaltato rispetto a quello che hai tu. E ci sono i bio block e la filtrazione meccanica. La mia parte preferita del kit è il pezzo in acrilico regolabile in altezza (rosa), così puoi regolare manualmente l’altezza dell’acqua per la camera dello schiumatoio/refugium. La pressione dell’acqua praticamente tiene quel pezzo rosa contro il rosso. Spero che abbia senso haha. Non so se c’è un modo giusto o sbagliato di fare un sump. Volevo solo darti più idee
Ok cool. So I bought a kit and I’ll show you how mine is set up. The sump and refugium have holes in between ( dark blue ) so the water line is the same (light blue). And then from refugium to return pump it’s flipped from what you have. And there is bio blocks and mechanical filtration. My favorite part of the kit is an adjustable height acrylic piece (pink) so you can manually adjust the water height for the skimmer/refugium chamber. The water pressure basically will hold the pink piece against the red. Hopefully that makes any sense hah. Idk if there is a right or wrong way to do a sump. Just wanted to give you more ideas

Sì, è una buona idea! Per questo ho postato lol non ne avevo mai fatto uno e nemmeno ne avevo mai visto uno davvero valido. Ho provato a cercarne, ma sono tutti così diversi, quindi ho fatto quello che mi sembrava giusto. Però ha perfettamente senso.
Yeah that’s a good idea! That’s why I posted lol never made one or really even seen a good one. I’ve tried to look up some but they’re all so different so I just went with what I thought looked right. But that makes a lot of sense.

Secondo te anche il calo di 2-3 pollici dalla sezione con il bio media fino allo schiumatoio sarebbe rumoroso come ha detto SFReefer? Se sì, hai qualche idea per tenere la spugna in uso?
Also do you think the 2-3 inch drop from the bio media section to the skimmer would be loud like SFReefer said? If so do you have any ideas to keep the sponge in use?

Sì, sono d’accordo con SFreefer. Non c’è bisogno e non c’è alcun vantaggio per quella parte rossa.
Yeah I agree with SFreefer. Theres no need or benefit for that red area.

Beh il motivo per cui l’avevo messo così in alto era che il livello nella prima camera fosse più alto. Meno rumore che esce dai filter sock
Well the reason I had it that high was so that the level in the first chamber was higher. Less sound coming from the filter socks

Anche lo schiumatoio sarà molto più grande: spunterà dalla parte alta della vasca, ma non posso nemmeno immaginarlo haha
The skimmer will also be much larger, it’ll be sticking out of the top of the tank but I can’t draw that haha
