O ho sfiga con gli hammer o qualcosa non va nella mia vasca perché non riesco a fare stare aperti. È il primo hammer che muore e quello sulla roccia sembra perdere teste. Ci sarebbe un motivo per cui la mia star polyp non si apre?
Either i have bad luck with hammer coral or something is wrong with my tank cause I cant keep them from staying closed up. This is my first hammer that has died and the one that is on the rock seems to loose heads. Also would there be a reason for my star polyp to not open?

Ho avuto molto più successo con i miei hammer mantenendo il mag 1400-1500 e dosando AF Life Source 1 scoop a settimana, si sono gonfiati molto più e sembrano iniziare a dividersi di più.
I have had a lot more success with my hammers keeping mag 1400-1500 and dosing AF Life Source 1 scoop a week they have all really puffed up more and seem to be starting to split more.

Ho 4 varietà di hammer che prosperano a vari livelli di luce 50-150PAR quindi ecco il mio consiglio: intorno a 1400 mag, 400-500 calc (il mio è a 600 per qualche motivo), 1.025sg, 5-15 nitrati, fino a 0,1 fosfati, 78f. Queste sono le cose che trovo facili da controllare con cambio d'acqua regolari, non inseguire gli altri numeri. Faccio cambi d'acqua settimanali del 15% per reintegrare gli elementi traccia usando il sale red sea coral pro. Non faccio altro se non pulire il filter sock e la coppa dello schiumatoio. I miei sono tutti felici in una corrente relativamente bassa, i polipi appena oscillano. Buona fortuna!
I have 4 varieties of hammers all thriving at various light levels 50-150PAR so here's my advice: around 1400 mag, 400-500 calc (mine is 600 right now for some reason), 1.025sg, 5-15 nitrates, up to .1 phosphates, 78f. Those are the things I find are easy to control with regular water changes, don't chase the other numbers. I do weekly 15% water changes to replenish trace elements using redsea coral pro salt. I don't do anything else except clean the filter sock and skimmer cup. Mine are all happy in relatively low flow, polyps barely swaying around. Good luck!

Non sono per niente un esperto, fai i cambi d'acqua e non stressarti troppo! Quanti anni ha la tua vasca comunque? Edit: le uniche cose che controllo veramente sono temp, salinità, fosfato e nitrato. Il mix di sale che uso mantiene tutto il resto molto stabile (se la mia prima risposta non era chiara)
I'm by no means an expert, do your water changes and don't stress too much! How old is your tank by the way? Edit: the only things I really control are temp, salinity, phosphate and nitrate. The salt mix I use keeps everything else very stable (if my first response wasn't clear)

Ha circa due 3 mesi ora, in questo momento i miei fosfati sono a 0,16 quindi probabilmente farò un cambio d'acqua del 15%
It's about two 3 months old now, right now my phosphate are at .16 so ill probably do a 15% water change

Anche i fosfati io normalmente li tengo alti per loro, amano un po' di acqua più sporca come la maggior parte degli LPS. Per l'alcalinità, la stabilità è la chiave, ho visto hammer prosperare in una vasca coerente a 6.1dkh. Luce, possono fare sia con luce più bassa che più alta, minimo 75 par e un massimo di circa 200-250 assicurati solo che sia spostato lentamente verso l'alto
Not gonna read through all this but just make sure they get low flow, just enough to make their polyps sway gently. Also phosphates I normally keep high for them, they like a bit dirtier water as do most LPS. Alkalinity wise, stability is key, I’ve seen hammers thriving in a consistent 6.1dkh tank before. Light, they can do lower and higher light, minimum 75 par and a max of about 200-250 just make sure it’s moved up slowly
