Does anyone have a recommendation on a gyre pump for a IM 25 lagoon?

Hygger mini gyre maybe? Low flow first

I’ve been looking into those, and Fzone from Amazon and of course an AI orbit 2. A lot of them seem like it might be too much flow

Totally, that’s my worry too. I’d start with whatever has the lowest controllable setting and aim

No gyre, but thought I might share. I'm running a AI Nero 3 on my IM 25 Lagoon. Also have spin streams on the return pumps. Flow seems to be working for me. I might upgrade the return to an AI Axis 40 in the return to increase the flow a bit. Just another option for you.

Do you like the spin streams ? Are the noisy? I just picked up two Hygger HG172-6W, max flow is 792. hoping the lowest setting isn’t too bad. Still might get the Nero or orbit in the future just have to save up so the wife doesn’t kill me 🤣. Currently the return pump is an Amazon jerepond or something like that, DC controllable 800gph 20 levels and have it low at the moment since it’s still cycling. Super quiet, wave mode all for $50

I like the spin streams but you do hear a bit of noise. Like gears turning. If they break I think I'll replace them with VGA Random Flow Generators. They require a more powerful return pump than the stock IM pumps I am running. But you seem to have that covered already. I think the two Hygger HG172 will be plenty, if not perfect. My nero 3 I run at 45% max. It is set on the right glass toward the top middle. It would be nice to have a second pump to run lower near the sand bed close to the back wall. That area seems to be the only area with low flow.

That’s kinda what I’m thinking, one on the right side in the back middle to lower and another on the left side where needed. I run VCA RFG’s on my Deskmate and love em. The 25 has them as well, but they are ones I 3D printed my self and seem to be working.

This is the area I sort of have a dead spot because my scape and if I had a second pump I would place it, or opposite side like you mentioned. That's awesome you have some RFGs already, I think those and the hyggers will work great.

I think the VCA dual 1/4 RFG’s would take care of the problem. It would give you four nozzles and you could point one at the right side there to eliminate that spot.
