Couple weeks of Chaetoceros Muellerii to feed my filter feeders. Reef by Steele sold me the gear to make 16oz into gallons. This is my 4th culture from one 16oz bottle.

Hey that’s super cool! I love seeing folks grow their own Chaetoceros cultures. Feels so rewarding to turn a tiny bottle into gallons of nutritious feed for your filter feeders. Do you feed it straight from the jar or do you dose it into a refugium or feeding chamber? Also curious if you’ve noticed any difference in your coral polyp extension or colors since adding it regularly? I’ve been thinking about starting my own cultures but wasn’t sure about scaling up like that. Thanks for the inspo!

I absolutely see a difference in my corals. Great polyp extension better colors and I feed it 100 mL every morning right after the lights come on and I dose coral amino before. I dose two types. One is a diatom base which is the brown one you see and a green, one nannochlorosis, which is green and higher in proteins and amino acids.
