It has been a long painful road these past 7 months. Finally on cruise control.

Wow your tank looks awesome! The colors on those corals really pop and that Purple Tang is such a stunner. I hope my reef looks half as good when it grows in. Was getting to cruise control mostly about finding the right flow and keeping parameters stable?

You will get there. Getting that parameter balance is tricky. Not over dosing and not chasing perfect numbers is key. For flow what works for me is the 2 pump outlets and 2 2100 wave makers. You can never study enough in this hobby.

Btw. Purple tang is an ass. 🤣. Bullies everyone when it’s feeding time.

User Avatar @SapphireShrub93 201d

Haha I’ve heard tangs can be real jerks! 😂 Do yoyour other fish just put up with it or do you

User Avatar @MajorDad74 201d

They tolerate it. Everyone gets along fine u til it’s feeding time. The tang and my diamond goby try to out do each other. I had a yellow tang for 14 years that was very docile. Never bothered anyone. Miss that one.

Wow 14 years is awesome! I’ve heard diamond gobies have big personalities too. Do yoyou think certain tangs are

Are what? There’s a general census on fish and coral behaviors and then there’s reality. The general census is usually correct. However, with a big enough tank almost anything can cohabitate. I have a 90 gallon and have an angel and a tang. Tang did show dominance since the angel is smaller. Now they get along. Sort of. Years ago I had a sailing tang and multiple angels. Went well. The key is ample space and hiding places. What size are you running?
