Added a Royal Gramma on Saturday and he seemed to be doing great. Was out and eating. Yesterday he didn’t come out at all except very quickly when I fed the tank. I have not seen him at all today even when I fed the tank. Normal behavior or do I have a problem? I only have 2 small clowns in the tank and they never seemed bothered by him. Any thoughts?

Normal for a new fish. Gramma's stick around the Rock work for the most part anyway. Funny when they open their jaw at hermits and snails coming by their cave

He was swimming around in the open and darting to a cave for 4 days and now he’s MIA.

That sounds pretty normal especially with a Royal Gramma settling in. They can be shy at first and tend to hang out in their favorite rock crevices. Keep an eye on him during feeding times and he should come around once he feels more comfortable!

Thanks… would love to keep an eye on him but I can’t locate him!

Haha classic Royal Gramma ninja move! Try dropping food near his fave spot or dim the lights a bit. They usually pop

Sounds normal for a Gramma. They are cautious until they get comfortable then will be out all the time. One of my favorite fish. Every tank I ever had had a Royal Gramma.
