Hey all, just got some trochus snails and one of them has some weird tentacles coming out the side of its shell. I’m sure it’s a hitchhiker but just don’t know what it is. Any help is appreciated!

Haha classic hitchhiker moment bro. Those trochus bring the party. Probably some kinda worm or tiny crab, keep an eye on it!

Sure you can! Just need a dedication to quarantine protocols. Sometime just monitoring other times with various med options or treatments. Just depends what you find, id, and treat for. But it can be done with just a little bit more effort. If you have questions pm me.

Those tentacles coming out of your trochus snail shell are probably a hitchhiking vermetid snail or maybe a small worm. They love to pop up in nano tanks. Honestly the macroalgae growth looks gorgeous though!

Yeah it’s practically coated in macroalgae- picked 4 of them up today at Reefapalooza and a pithos crab
