Tested water parm today, did a water change yesterday. My salinity is 1.017… how can I raise that up? I don’t have any salt to mix.
On the other hand, my bubble tip is gaining color back!! You can see the green coming back. My Duncan is doing good. I added 2 new corals, Rasta Zoas and a Kenya tree. My mushrooms have been reproducing like crazy but all my corals except my gsp look to be doing just fine. My gsp hasn’t fully opened in a couple days, I’m assuming that’s because my salinity is low.
I have a couple types of algae coming back, brown/tan algae on the sand bed and my glass, then that green hair algae looking stuff is coming back too.
All fish seem to be doing fine.
Week 5 and 6! I have definitely learned a lot the last 2 weeks with the help of some amazing experts in the field. They were hard to find as not a lot of people that are sellers take marine husbandry serious. My parameters were stalling and the advice to add more of the RIGHT bio media and some more bacteria saw my nitrites drop within 24 hours finishing my cycle. Some more water changes to come before fish but my first corals are in deviating from the original two planned to allow some learning. Mushrooms allowed me to learn corals opening and closing, rocks and frag plugs and what glue works and doesn’t; which corals can be glued to frags and which can’t and a whole lot of trial and error before getting things right.

Mushroom corals are perfect—hardy, super colorful, polyps move visibly when healthy vs. stressed. A couple tiny baby frags (1-2 polyps each) would make this hands-on demo way more powerful than photos alone.

Why is my mushroom doing this? Does anybody know?

Trying to keep up with updates for my own records, lots of new friends and some growth! Bonus points if anyone can tell me what the red green bounce mushroom is cause I have no idea! Just a sweet shroom!
Good morning everyone, just fed mysis shrimp. I need to find an easier way to feed, fighting off my clowns is kinda difficult lol, they keep stealing from my mushrooms 😑 but anyways. Here’s some photos just because.
Help with Mushroom ID? I live in Charlotte near QCC. I bought these a year ago off a local reefer. I forgot the name when I bought them :/
Hey! I am needing help/advice in raising nutrients in my tank.
I got an established 65g tank & 15g sump off marketplace a few weeks ago. It came with clowns and some different mushroom corals. When I set it up, only took about 5 days to cycle again. My corals are growing, I actually have a lot of new growth from them despite having low nutrients. I also have new coralline algea growth. I've only done one 15% water change in hopes to raise calcium and magnesium levels. Added eco pods and feed them phytoplankton every day to help with the ugly stage. Ugly brown detrius went away but now I'm left with green hair algea, the algea isn't spreading but what is there has been growing. Any advice?? I feed my clowns 2-3× a day
Thank you! ❤️
