Does anyone one why my reef tank gets clear then foggy like every other week I took all the corals and fish out and moved them to another tank because they were dying but I’m confused because it’s clear one day and really foggy the next day.

Hi there, let me introduce myself to this new world I'm entering.

This is my first saltwater tank that someone I know started on May 15, 2025, but unfortunately, he has no time to continue with the hobby, so he searched for someone who wanted to take over, and I did! I know it isn't easy if you're new to this world, but I did a lot of research to start well.

For now, I'm testing daily, and we had some issues with transporting the water. There was one Jerrycan with a leak, so I had to make some new water. But now my calcium and magnesium are a little bit high.

OK, I had this freshwater shrimp tank and I went out of town and my brother forgot to take care of it so the fusion I had left in there died which is super sad☹️☹️ it’s about five or 6 gallons. I was planning on using it for something else anyways so hear me out guys.

I have a 30 gallon tank which has two betas (female, and devided) (I had plans to make a sorority, but I don’t think ima do that,)

should I start a saltwater tank in the 6 gallon? Or the 30 gallon? Cause I can move my small beta to the 6 gallon and give my other one to another aquarium friend.

I’m going to sleep with camp and my aquarium friend is gonna take care of my tanks . But I think I should go ahead and start cycling one.

I'm scrambling because I was not prepared for this.. Came home from work to my clownfish not getting along, to say the least.

Over the last few days, the dominant clown had started chasing the smaller a bit more than usual. Today, I came home, and it was chasing the other while trying to nip at it. It got to the point where I felt I had to intervene.

Was only able to capture the stressed clown because he was hiding next to the nozzle of the return pump, right at the surface trying to catch his breath. I didn't know clownfish could swim so fast in such a precise manner and not hit any rocks head on in their 20g cube.

Now that I got the smaller and my favorite clown into the mesh basket, I tried to figure out what I should do.

The Frag plates are not glued down any recommendations I have 1 over loaded tanks lol so I need to use this for frags I really did have 2 tanks but the EX refuses to release the 13.5 Evo from her place that’s loaded with $1200 worth the corals and a ECC nexus that split 2 times but little does she know the local LFS are on high alert to purchase and call soon as she comes in with anything 🤦🏻‍♂️ supposedly she was there monday looking to get ride of things but they thought it was weird because they only deal with me when we ever went there already looking into legal action I feel bad I even told her I only want 7 things from The tank and she’s more then welcome to keep the rest and I even gave her a brake down of how to operate the tank

Okay, update.

Got another pincushion urchin. I was told to add a tablespoon of my tank water to the bag every 5 min til the bag was 3/4 full. I did that. This is what my urchin looks like. I really don’t want this one to die… can anyone give me any tips?

Last pic of it was when I first got him last night, he’s in the bag.

Did a 5 gallon water change today. I’ll update my water parameters after the tank water circulates a bit more.

I have a stressful week ahead of me! I currently have a 300 DT plumbed to my basement fish room where I have a 60 Gallon refugium, 150 gallon basin sump and a 4’x 2’ frag tank.

We closed in a new house and now I have to figure out how to move everything about 30 miles away!
