I bought "mushroom rock from a local reefer selling thier livestock for a move. The rock has several green mushrooms and what looks like blue gsp? But it also has this other guy. He sits between 2 mushrooms and they seem unaffected by each other. He comes out of the rock itself and will dart back in if he senses danger (or a change in lighting). It has a fan like end with blue dots. Looks like long eyelashes in a circle narrow at the bottom and wider on top. Like a jet refueling arm. Ive tried to get good pictures with various filters and flash lights and most he blurred with out.
I think this is a feather duster worm maybe? If so not a pest. But I don't want to be wrong and put an unknown pest in my tank.
How do you deal with cyano?
Had to scrub a lot of hair algae off the rock and lower my white and red spectrum
So I tested parameters today. All looks okay. Nitrates are a little high but nothing concerning (I wouldn’t think). The only thing I see is calcium being pretty high. Anyone have any ideas why I might’ve had the cyano outbreak? I’m trying to make sure once the lights come back on that it doesn’t come back swinging, but I can’t seem to find the root of it. It could just be me not looking in the right place, but hence the questioning.
Appeared this morning on my zoas. Frag has been in the tank a month. You can’t see it with white lights. What is this
Is this GHA? It's not green, it looks brown to me but could be from my largely royal blue lighting config. It's single dots with multiple strands. Glass/glassware only, not stone. Brushes off easy. Looks like diatoms to me but.. the strands?
Thank you

Does anyone know if turning down white light, and turning up blue light reduces Dino’s?
Never had diatoms this bad. What are the white caps on the top of the rocks? It's like the only spot algae refused to grow. Lighting is set as low as possible (turned blue off to take pictures). I have new chaeto coming Friday along with apocalypse pods and phytoplankton. There are little air bubbles on the glass from the algae. Totally weird! I did a hydrogen mix dip that killed my chaeto before I was going to add it. I want to buy shrimp in person but have to travel 50+ miles.
Does anyone know what this is? Sorry the video is bad. It's between my rocks. Retracted quickly with bright light.
Been finding these snails the past couple of days after lights are off, anyone know what they are. I found like 10 of them tonight in my sand and rock. Are they harmful to my reef tank? They’re tiny. I used a microscopic lense for the video.
Kept the light off for a few days and my Dino problem has been controlled. Corals are a bit sad though 😅
I know it’s hard to see, but is this Aiptasia. Sorry about the light change was trying to make a clearer video but my camera switched the lights back!
