Okay so I had an old 29 gallon in the garage and I really don’t like my current set up with my sump. So I decided to build my own. I bought all the stuff and I’m just planning now. I want to fit both the skimmer and a refugium because I have a mandarin and want a good copepod surplus. Does this set up look ok? I’m hoping that in the future I might just take the socks out and do maybe a 30 then 40 then 50 ppi(maybe more if they have that). Just so I don’t have to worry about replacing socks every 2-3 days.
It looked like it cut off the original so I’m going to post both sides of it to be safe
happy with the aio system so far. impressed with the refugium for such a small footprint.
This is a New venture for me. Its 8:30am. Thanks to the Algae Barn. I'm going to try to grow my own Phytoplankton and Copepods. I set up my station in my pantry. Wish me luck.🙂
Coming along. Started copepods and phytoplankton tonight.

Set up a 2 1/2 gallon refugium with an overflow into the main tank today hopefully it lowers my nitrates a bit
Wanting to build a diy sump/refugium out of my old 75 gal tank for the 300 gal, it’ll be my first time doing a diy full sump, any suggestions on how to start and materials/ return pumps that have worked for others?
